Cafe Mattancherry - Cafe in Kochi - Ernakulam, India

We waited for half an hour for 4 cups of tea and 4 sandwiches. Got only 2 sandwiches, apparently they forgot about the other 2 sandwiches. We ordered the chicken and cheese sandwich, the sandwich was basically slices of bread and cheese with 90% onions, lots of weird-tasting mayo, and very less chicken. I was glad that they forgot to serve the 2 sandwiches. The service is poor, the food is way below average, and the cost is too much for the quality of food they serve.

Pathetic! Limited menu items or they've kept this cafe only for namesake in order to have the star rating for their hotel. The service was terrible. They couldn't even serve the simple fruit salad with ice-cream properly as those cut fruits smells/tastes onion (they probably might have not cleaned the cutting knife or cutting board after chopping onions).

Worst way of serving with worst staff. Was tired and just wanted to have a sandwich and tea.. sandwich was cold and tea so bland. Ambiance looked good from outside but didn't match the quality where it mattered. Get your basic food right and please don't serve Ketchup in bottle taken out of fridge directly.

Had a great lunch here thanks to Mahaboob who made it all possible! Bought the fish at the in-house fish market where all the fish was amazingly fresh. The meal was prepared exactly to outlet liking. Wonderful local flavors from the freshest products!

Cafe mattanchery Is a simple and beautiful cafe located in the heart of Kochi .the cafe has great ambiance and the bakes they serve are one of the finest in kochin my visit was at the time of covid outbreak the precautions they have taken is religious and the staff delaings are with atmost hospitality

Guys... When we went to Abad hotel after a tiring day out.. Firstly the waiters said us to sit in the mattanchery cafe just in the same building and provide us with both the menus.. But the menu was for sake.. When we were about to order they announced us the stuffs they just had in there.. In Biriyani.. Only chicken Biriyani.. Unfortunately we ordered it.. Half heartedly hoping at least it wud be better rather than any other shops.. But guys trust me.. The worst Biriyani anyone cud ever have.. Biriyani rice cold enough.. Chicken not even half boiled.. And to add on when we put on the rice into the plate.. The water which was remaining after washing the utensil just dripped into the plate.. When asked what was it.. Waiters do not even have the courtesy to ask sorry.. Just ran in transferred into another vessel.. And billed it under cafe mattanchery.. Poor presentation of food.. Just thumbs down..

Good just to talk with friends and chat with a cup of coffee or juice

Good for having light tea break with snacks like pastries or burgers etc. A bit expensive though.
