Cafe Godown - Cafe in Lucknow - Lucknow, India

Had tried some amazing dishes at cafe go down. * The thing that will attract you to this place is a Combination of Mumbai, Delhi and Punjab flavors used in their dishes... * It's an awesome place that serves some mouth-watering dishes. * First thing I tasted was Makka Sev Puri: It had mumbaiya taste, Sev made with Makka and mixed with peanuts, tomatoes, lemon juice garnished with some coriander and pomegranate. It was good in taste. * Another thing I tried was Crispy Aloo: This dish does great justice to its name... This taste from Delhi galli's has walked down in Lucknow only @cafegowdown Also was really very crispy, lemon squeezed on top of it garnished with some coriander and pomegranate. * Another important thing that will attract you to this cafe is its interior. Some very creative art pieces are displayed on walls. Beautiful wall props are also used which makes the interior worth watching.

For sheer enthusiasm and effort, Cafe Godown deserves a 4/5 at the very least! The food is fresh and the proprietor takes personal interest in the preparation and service, which is a refreshing departure from usual practice. Try the rolls - especially chicken - and down it with a strong cup of coffee! Enjoy your self!

Directly to my analysis: Food- The food items are pleasant-tasting. They have a different twist and it's good. As it's a cafe, you can have all the snacks you want. The masala french fries deserve a special mention. They have a bhel twist to them. 4/5 Ambiance- It has nice interiors, a classy theme but it is not properly maintained. There was a mice constantly coming underneath our legs. It was creepy!!! Additionally, if you don't like hukkas, you might be a bit uncomfortable as most of the people would be having a hukka. So, ambiance - 3.5/5 and cleanliness - 1/5 Service- Bad, real bad. I had just sat on a sofa, the waiter came for the order. I usually have my meal in courses. So, I gave him my initial order. As soon as he brought the food item, he asked (or rather ordered) me to order more food so that the bill reaches some amount (he mentioned the amount too, 'restaurant policy') and he was damn rude. You cannot presume that a customer will order that much and ask him to order or more or if it's a restaurant policy then there's a way of informing. I felt like leaving the place then and there. This restaurant better improve its service. 2/5 Cost- A little above average.

Awesome Chicken food. Chill place. Little heavy on the pocket if you are looking for snacks. Nice hookah collection and variety in menu. I didn't had hookah though. Food serving is way too slow. I remember waiting for a dish nearly 1 hour! Also no of dishes is limited. They offer snacks items majorly.

Agra special 'bedhai'. This delicacy which is served elwith spicy paneer curry and one crispy, spices stuffed puris (fried puff pastry) served with a dollop of fresh curd. This combination gave me the burst of different flavours and spices at the same time. The puris were crisp from outside but had a tender spicy centre. The potato curry was spicy but the intensity was subdued by cold dollop of curd. Overall, it was a must try.

I met an old friend here so this place will be etched in my memories ! We had a hukka which tasted great and Naachos!! Apart from this the food items are good as I have heard from friends! The music will although let you down!!

Some food items are overpriced but overall a decent place to hangout with friends. Also they have happy hours between 11.00 - 2.30 pm .

Very poor taste of food They don't even give you the bill It's not value for money
