Old famous place for having goan breakfast. We tried chicken xacuti, ross omlet with poe . Was good and tasty . Bhakkam pedha and sweet bun which one should not miss.
We were looking for authentic goan breakfast places and then we found this small joint just located at calangute circle. Place ambience is just like a basic canteen but the food is delicious What we had? 1. Chicken Sagoti and poori Delicious chicken preparation served with 4 pooris was a perfect combination. 2. Ros omelette Classic goan breakfast where egg omelette is covered with the Sagoti curry and was serves with poie (goan bread) 3. Bhakkam Pedha It was a sweet dish, similar to khaja but with lots of layers. 4. Special chai Taste was good but it was very sweet Overall experience fabulous. Must visit.
Visited the place during goa vacation. Please avoid eating at this place. The ross omelette is not authentic and did not have a piece of chicken and the curry was flavourless. Also the bread or pav has to be bought separately. The puri were cold and hard. The batata bhaji was only dish which was little bit good.

When you are in Goa, you visit a restaurant/cafe and you find that you are surrounded by locals, know that you are at the right place. It's a no nonsense restaurant that offers typical Goan breakfast along with few lunch items in the afternoon. It's situated just by the Calangute square. I visited it twice and had usal bhaji, Watana bhaji, mixed bhaji along with pav and supplemented by Goan mirchi bhaji. Also got their samosas as parcel for our friend who wasn't with us. We liked all of their dishes. Prices are also very reasonable. On our first visit, we ordered three food items and two beverages, got a parcel for our friend and yet the bill was 190/-. Just a day back we had visited Navratna Udupi restaurant where we had to wait for an hour for typical south Indian dishes that turned out average at best. So I have decided to always go for Goan breakfast in Goa.
Cafe Anand is located at Calangute and great place to have food for non vegi, However the tender attitude is pathetic. Overall experience is good.
