We had a very nice stay at BytheZoo Homestay. The hosts were very freindly, caring, warm-hearted and courteous. The flat is very cosy with a beautiful view over Darjeeling and the mountains. You should not expect warm water or heating, but with warm clothes for winter and autumn, your stay will be a comfortable one. Thanks for the nice little breakfast, see you soon!
Place was horrible very hard to find.Had to walk for more than an hour to find it. Far from the market area. We were provided with some other room (different from what we booked online). Place was not clean, flush in the washroom was not working. Owner cheated us by saying that he has his own car and rents it for sight seeing but in reality he booked some other person's car and charged us 500 rupees extra. We came to know about this when the driver told us. Do not book this hotel even by mistake. Go for some other hotel. You will be disappointed if you book this place.
First of all, dont ever try to book the homestay if you are planning. <br/>On the first day it was very difficult to find the homestay, though its situated nearby zoo, but there was not a single display board of the homestay in road. Very very bad. <br/>On the time of booking the owner mentioned that each room has balcony. But at that time when we entered the room there was not a balcony. Moreover i did not like the building. Its wrost. Its like a old building which has been repaired. <br/>The complimentary breakfast is just bogus. Normal hotels serves you better.<br/>The rooms are okay but not that good. <br/>Also<br/>There is a common toilet which you have to share with other guests. Which i didnt like at all. <br/>The hotel location is far far away from main road. You will easily get exhausted by walking.<br/>The owner is nice but the hospitality is not that much. There are no fan in the room. Other neighbours can easily look at you from their home. <br/>In fact you can get a very good hotel in the budget. <br/>That was my first ever homestay in life and i am sure not to book any homestay in my life ever.<br/>A BIG MISTAKE.
By the zoo homestay is no longer open for tourists due to the sudden demise of my brother and the owner of the homestay, kindly cancel your bookings or book some other homestay on your visit to Darjeeling.....it may reopen in the near future but don't know when ... Thankyou
very steep staircase d touching our heads. In our room toilet is Indian d very congested. Very bad smell is coming from bed sheets d pillows. It is not preferable to anyone. Finding hotel address is also very difficult.
