Bus Stand Shopping Complex - Shopping mall in Vatakara - Kozhikode, India

Not a safety place to entry during rainy season. There should be some proper coverages to the front and rear to make safe entry in the bus during rainy days

Nice place and good shopping sites available

First of all, it is not a shopping complex. It is the new bus stand in Vadakara. Buses run to long routes from here. Buses are available to Kannur, Kozhikode, Kasargod and long routes like banglore, mysore, Palakkad, Trivandram, Ernakulam, etc. Nearby Hotel is MRA where you can find good food. Also the toilet present in the bus stand is very clean and good to use. You can find necessary items in the shops available in the bus stand building. The place doesnt have much seats for the passengers to sit. Also it is very crowded during the day. The place has many small tea shops too. The nearest auto stand is available just outside the bus stand. Nearest ATM is also a 5 minute walk. You can find buses almost 24 hrs a day. Long route buses operate mainly a night. Banglore buses are available at 8pm, 9pm ,10pm, etc. Both KSRTC buses and private buses operate from here. There is also a KSRTC help desk operating here to check info about KSRTC bus timings and whereabouts. Short route buses starts from old bus stand and run through here. You can find them near exit where there is a shed from where you can board such buses. This place is located in the highway so you can locate it easily. The railway station is also nearby. It is barely a 2km away from here. You can either walk or take a rickshaw to there. Opt for vadakara new bus stand if you are travelling long and go for old bus stand if you are travelling to nearby areas.

Near highway and has busy roads

Bus stand complex has only some sitting chairs. Congested and pavements have occupied by trespassers. No cleaning. Toilets are closed as my experience. I checked more than 10 times in different periods, I saw locked doors. When I enquired they told of issues with sewage management. The MRA Hotel in front of Bustand also subjected mob attacks citing failure in sewage water treatment issues. You can get buses to Kozhikode,Kannur, and other areas of Vadakara Taluk.

Vatakara new bus stand situates in a very convenient location . All long route,local buses including KSRTC touches the bus stand . But at night long route buses some times skip it. The bus stand is some what neat. The bathrooms are neat and the waste treatment system is a model to other local bodies. There is a branch of MRA Bakery & restaurant inside it . It is a notable one .They serve different types tasty veg and non veg foods,juices and icecreams and fast food. Milma milk booth ,fruit stalls and mobile recharge shops are here.There is a good book stall also. About 1/2 km to railway station ,old bus stand, Co-operative ,Govt district hospital and 300 mtrs to the petrol pump. 2 ATM facilities in front of the bus stand with in 100 mtrs. Sargalaya Craft Village, Siddhasramam, Lokanarkavu Temple are some of the must visit tourist destinations within 5 kms surroundings of Vatakara New Bus Stand complex.
