Station is good. Right now most of the platform has escalator. Out side of station has so many option for eating. Ticket counter is also just out side of the station but in station premises. On platform number 1 has one waiting room. That's large and airway. There have one big huge fan. That's interesting. All the areas are clean and good. Each platform have some eating option but most of them are tea and irctc shop. Outside shops and variety is good.
This is one of the most important junction station in eastern railway connecting Howrah Asansol Katwa and Rampurhat from 3 different direction. Many express train halts here. Clean tidy platforms with water and food available in each 8 platform. Wide flyover with escalator is very convenient. Multiple counters to buy ticket easily. New large digital boards to show train times. Wifi available. Very easy public transport options just outside the station. Many food stalls, ATM, restaurants available outside the station.

The Railway station is one of the main junction which connects Kolkata with North Bengal and also the northern states of the country. Though being a very important station it is not very well maintained. The passage is always dirty. There is no lift and often the escalators don't work. The officials must look over these issues. There is also no proper 1st class waiting room.
Very busy station. Local, Mail Express... Pass through this station. Present condition of Flyovers is not sufficient to move from one platform to other during heavy traffic. Because arrival and departure time anouncement is not well advance. Disabled and aged persons face heavy problem during their movements fr one platform to other. Escalators are not working.
Railway Station is usually looks fine.. But, the washrooms are as usual very dirty n the whole railway stn stinks. The upper class waiting room is upstairs, nd no life or escalator available. That means you need to carry your heavy luggage bags upstairs using stairs.. The whole room smells dirty due to uncleaned attached bathroom.
