A quick getaway from Namma Bengaluru. We as part of our Travel group 'Keep Trippin' explored this lesser known fort. Some key points: 1, There is no specific parking area, so park on the roads. 2, No guides available and no entry fee 3, Small hike and can be completed in less than an hour overall. Also climb upto the top view point which is right next to Hyder Ali birth place stone. 4, Go in a group (like our Travel group) as the place is hardly visited by anyone. So better to have company. 5, Facilities for water, light snacks etc is available at the main road
in these pandemic times, mostly looking for avoiding the crowded places and this is an excellent offbeat location, about 1.5hrs from whitefield, some stretches of road are good , others not so. google maps takes you bang to the location, there is some parking on side of road as its not a crowded place. if you are going as family or multiple families, its a good place to spend 1-2 hrs. not much of a climb initially, you pass by 2 very old temples onto the place marked as Haider Ali's birthplace (gated with lock). there are a few benches and you can have a picnic there as there's hardly anyone around. one rock in front of this gate can be climbed by kids (barefoot is easy), you can relax there and enjoy the excellent views. there is a small way below the tamarind tree in front of gate that takes you to few steps on top of the portion of old fort - great views. There is a small temple at the top of the hill (its actually structure for Tulsi plant and many tulsi plants can be seen around it). if you are good with climbing and managing thru rocks, do climb from behind the haider ali enclosure and few minutes you will reach the top. need to navigate thru the rocks, its not marked anywhere, but people do use that way, so you can easily reach the top (it looks challenging , going between rocks, need to have good shoes/grip). overall its fun with kids. you can combine with visit to dam 10min away by vehicle.
Very nice place to explore nature. 8th century fort Budikote (Ash Fort). Two ancient Mandir also there. Hyder ali birth place. Hyder ali father Fateh Muhammad came here from Gulbarga. One of palanayaka of fort kept him here as Foujdar. There is no natural or human made stairs to go on bastions exept Budi rocks which are slidy slippery slope. Take care guys.

Nothing to see... Only a small well maintained park kind of thing with no amenities and lots of monkeys around... Hardly u can spend 10 mins there
Its very good place even my grand parents belong to that place My mom nd her sibling childhood place Its a unique place I wish government must look after it nd improve that place as it belong to our freedom fighter Hyder Ali nd tippu sultan Visited bfre 2 years I think No proper roads Nd even that village must improve and they must give proper facilities to those ppl Thank u
