The construction work is abandoned by some reason , why this place is so beautiful and calm , my Request to the government please complete this beautiful temple.
This is an eerie place, lonely but somehow fascinating and worth a visit. Isolated and a few minutes away from the nearby famous Kagvad Mataiji temple and near the Virpur Jalaram temple. Founded recently in 1958 the caves near the temple are supposed to have been built in the4th century. The nearby area is a forest and wild animals do come after dusk, so best to avoid it after dark. Worth a visit.
Here is an Khambalida Budhist Temple. Khambalida Budhist where Buddhism made a deep impact around the 4th century. Here very good looking and old structural style design of Temple. Remnants of this can be seen in the clutch of 15 caves that have a chaitya-griha or a shrine in the centre. Intricate sculptures of Boddhisatvas, Avalokiteshvara and Vajrapani flank the entrance of these limestone caves. The history of these caves dates back to the 4th century when Buddhism was gaining momentum in this part of the country. They were discovered in 1958 by renowned archaeologist, PP Pandya. Place is good for visit but caves structure is no more because broken. Over good experience but suggest that don't visit because currently no any structure found as old structure, can skip visit. Here mentioned all words is my personal observation and experience.
Abandoned during construction, Buddhist temple. 70% complete. Do drop by, if you pass by.
Very good place. Vikas on the way....
Good place at the Buddhist caves in gujarat
Good Temple .. I hope any trust/Govt. Build & develop this temple..
At Khambhalida there are three caves, these caves dates back to 4th-5th century AD and are scooped out from the local limestone rock. Even with such a great historical importance, the caves are very badly maintained by the related departmevnt
Archeologically important and very ancient Buddhist caves with a small river flowing in front of the caves and lots of green trees in surroundings. Surrounding environment is calm and cool. Enough parking space available outside. New Buddhist temple
