A quaint bed and breakfast situated in the heart of Assagao. The manager Avinash is an amazing host and made our stay super comfortable. Pros - A walk away from the best restaurants Quiet and away from the touristy parts of Goa In the same complex as Izumi Has a nice pool Rooms are large Cons - The rooms are a bit basic. Not ideal if one is going for luxury or a trip with friends. Dimly lit rooms I loved the place :)
Rooms are spacious enough with a pool in the compound. No reserved parking for guests. We were a group of friends and enjoyed well. Host is cooperative. No restrictions on loud music too.
I had stayed at the Botanique pool view room in the last week of December 2022, and it was an amazing experience. The room was spacious, had a bedroom, a living room and a kitchen with a dining area. The interiors as well as the exteriors were very well designed with select furniture and decor pieces. It had a very boutique-style yet homely vibe. The surrounding area is quiet and serene with chirpy bird sounds. The service was excellent. Avinash, the manager made sure we get everything we need and that our stay is extremely comfortable. Even the other staff and the cleaning ladies did their job wonderfully. The pool was clean too. There was ample parking space. Sam, the owner also had visited to check on the guests to make sure everything is good. Overall, a beautiful experience.
The story: This was my partner's first visit to India, and I wanted him to see Goa and spend some relaxing time with my parents to get to know them. We booked Botanique for 5 nights, and looking at the reviews it looked wonderful. I will be as neutral as I can be in this review as I shall give the credit where due, but also would like to mention a few things which can be improved, and maybe help others before booking. PROS: If you are a fan of solace, less crowds and want peace, this is your place to go to. Situated within the mighty tall trees of Assagao, extremely quiet and peaceful, rooms with plenty of space, lovely views to look at whilst having breakfast. A wonderful swimming pool surrounded by trees and sitting area where you can relax and sunbathe. CONS: As much as I loved the peace and quiet, I would like to take a moment to write about the management team who work with Botanique. We were welcomed with all smiles, and a few days prior to our arrival, I had ordered a package for myself which had already been notified to the owner about, and I was assured that their management will receive it in case I am out, so I should not worry about it. When my package arrived, I was right at the property, and received an email instead saying that the delivery attempt was made but was sent back. I went out and asked the guard who was responsible for the parking if he had seen a delivery guy, and he casually tells me that he sent him away. It was extremely disappointing to know this as I had informed it to the owners, as well as the management and they made a decision in spite of me being at the property. We had to drive all the way into the narrow lanes of Mapusa and it was an extremely difficult night to locate the courier place, due to which we had an extremely late dinner. The room we were provided with has a capacity of four people as it comes with a living room and a bedroom. The living room has two single beds, and the main bedroom has a wonky large double bed. The plates, bowls provided to us were only two and no microwave either if you wanted to warm up your food for later. (If I am paying Rs. 34,000 for five nights, I would want to expect at least basic facilities.) The last night before our check out on the next day, the electricity went off at 5 am, and we had a train to catch for the next eight hours. We contacted the property manager requesting this to be fixed as we all slept with discomfort but realised that they only have a generator for the main restaurant and pool area. Whereas, the residences run on inverter which stops after 5 hours. The electricity finally showed up at 7 am. I met my family after two years and hence wanted to give them a nice relaxation time but it turned out to be a little disappointing. The management has no answers, and the owner does not respond. To provide compensation for this discomfort, we were given complimentary laundry services (which was alright). The place is alright, but can be improved so much in terms of basic facilities.
Great place to stay. Went with my friends and enjoyed very much. Excellent rooms and very friendly staff. There is a restaurant by the pool. Wonderful ambience. It is a good 150 mtrs away from the road and you'll not hear any noise around. Families will also enjoy this place.
We ate at nearby restaurants and slept 3 in our suite. Our to bill was very low. Hotel was for backpackers
Excellent property with even better team of host! We stayed here for 2N in the month of September. The property is very nice and the hosts are even better. Avinash and his team made sure that every thing was proper and even the breakfast served was hot and fresh. It's a pet friendly property, so our 15 month old golden retriever enjoyed his stay a lot as well. Looking forward to visit this property again. Keep up the good work!
Lovely place with a warm friendly staff, legit coffee, lovely home style breakfast and great location. However, security is an area that can probably be improved upon. I have been burgled in the past in a different part of Goa and was made aware of all the things that could go wrong by the police and this place could definitely use an upgrade in their security systems, especially for the windows. While the full glass windows look and feel great, the premises gates are almost always left open and I haven't, as yet, seen a security guard on duty. It's a lovely property and very hospitable, but personally I'd prefer feeling just a bit more safe. Keep up the good work!
What a great experience we had in Mojigao. I am still in awe of that place. Totally loved the ambience and vibes of the place. Me and my husband had one of the most relaxing spa session over there. I would love to thanks Michelle Ma'am and her entire
