You need to take permission from the HOD of Botani Dept. of Gauhati University before entering. It's not open for everyone. Only research scholars and students (for study purpose) can visit the garden.

It's so beautiful and spooky on the inside. Looking from the outside you can never imagine what's inside that gate, because it's going to take your breath away. It's just amazing. But the entry is restricted. You've to take permission from the VC before you enter and it's also written on the gate.

A beautiful place inside the campus, it has a some good collection of plants and flowers. But more than that, the place is beautiful naturally by all itself.

The botanical garden of Gauhati University is often an unexplored gem in University campus. If you get chance, explore the place.
