This little known sanctuary is amazing for nature and wildlife lovers and for those who are looking for some quiet time away from city life... We stayed at the FDCM cottages which in itself is a very nature friendly place with decent rooms and facilities. The jungle may not have the regular bigcat sightings of a more famous Tadoba or Pench but it has its own presence in the minds of a true wildlife lover. It is definitely not as crowded as the other tiger reserves, which gives you your own space in the forest. Since you are not crazily running after the bigcats there is enough time for you to notice and love the other smaller animals and the amazing bird life. Other than safari you can choose to visit the Buddha retreat centre or the Bor dam in the evenings. The pleasant breeze coming from the dam along with tea and snacks makes the whole atmosphere peaceful and serene. To add to that you will get the taste of a village life where the evenings come early, as a city dweller what else do you want..!!! Over all this is one such weekend getaway which will give you TIME for yourself and with your immediate family members. The slow paced life amongst nature and wildlife will make you think and re think about it well after you have gone..
A good wildlife Sanctuary just Outskirts of Nagpur city. A nice blooming wildlife and picture perfect locations for nature lovers. You can even spot Tigers, Leopards and wild boars during safari.
The most underrated wildlife sanctuary in Maharashtra probably. The animal sightseeing probability is huge in this area. Tigers, Sloth Beer, Spotted Deer, Indian Sambar, Peacocks can be seen in jungle safari depending upon luck.
Inspite being the smallest of the tiger reserves, it has some beautiful landscapes and impressive tiger count.
It is notable that Bor Tiger Reserve and some adjacent protected areas will be merged with Pench Tiger Reserve (Maharashtra) as a 'Satellite core area', to more than double the area of that well established tiger reserve.Bor Tiger Reserve is centrally located among several other Bengal tiger habitats including: Pench Tiger Reserve, Maharashtra, 90 km2 (35 sq mi) to the northeast; Nagzira Navegaon Tiger Reserve, 125 km2 (48 sq mi) to the east northeast; Umred Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary, 75 km2 (29 sq mi) to the east southeast; Tadoba - Andhari Tiger Reserve, 85 km2 (33 sq mi) to the southeast; Melghat Tiger Reserve, 140 km2 (54 sq mi) to the west northwest and Satpura National Park and Tiger Reserve,160 km2 (62 sq mi) to the northwest.
