Bor Tiger Reserve offers an exceptional experience for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. Nestled in the heart of Maharashtra, India, this reserve boasts breathtaking landscapes, abundant flora and fauna, and the opportunity to witness the majestic Royal Bengal Tigers in their natural habitat. During my recent visit, I was captivated by the reserve's beauty and conservation efforts. The first aspect that struck me was the pristine environment. Bor Tiger Reserve is a haven for biodiversity, with dense forests, grasslands, and water bodies that create a harmonious ecosystem. The lush greenery, complemented by the tranquil ambiance, provides an ideal setting for immersing oneself in nature. The reserve's well-maintained trails and observation points allow visitors to explore its varied terrain and discover its hidden gems. The wildlife encounters at Bor Tiger Reserve are truly awe-inspiring. The reserve is home to a diverse range of species, including the iconic Royal Bengal Tigers, leopards, sloth bears, Indian gaur, sambar deer, and countless avian species. Guided safari tours offer a chance to observe these magnificent creatures up close, and the experienced guides possess an impressive knowledge of the area, making the safari an informative and thrilling experience. Moreover, Bor Tiger Reserve stands out for its conservation efforts. The authorities have implemented strict measures to protect the delicate ecosystem and maintain the balance between human activities and wildlife preservation. The reserve actively engages in community-based initiatives, promoting awareness and involving local communities in conservation practices. This commitment to sustainable conservation deserves commendation. The visitor facilities at Bor Tiger Reserve are well-designed and cater to the needs of guests. The information center provides educational materials about the reserve's biodiversity and ongoing conservation projects. Accommodation options are available both within the reserve and in nearby areas, offering a range of choices for different budgets. Additionally, the staff members are friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to assist, making the overall experience all the more enjoyable. While my visit to Bor Tiger Reserve was exceptional, there are a few areas where improvement could be considered. First, the availability of guided tours could be expanded, as the demand often exceeds the supply. Additionally, incorporating more interactive elements in the visitor center would enhance the educational experience for visitors, especially for families and school groups. Overall, Bor Tiger Reserve is a remarkable destination that offers an incredible opportunity to witness the wonders of nature and contribute to conservation efforts. From the captivating wildlife to the lush landscapes, this reserve is a haven for both adventure and serenity. Despite a few minor areas for improvement, I highly recommend visiting Bor Tiger Reserve to experience the magic of the wild and support its conservation endeavors.

This little known sanctuary is amazing for nature and wildlife lovers and for those who are looking for some quiet time away from city life... We stayed at the FDCM cottages which in itself is a very nature friendly place with decent rooms and facilities. The jungle may not have the regular bigcat sightings of a more famous Tadoba or Pench but it has its own presence in the minds of a true wildlife lover. It is definitely not as crowded as the other tiger reserves, which gives you your own space in the forest. Since you are not crazily running after the bigcats there is enough time for you to notice and love the other smaller animals and the amazing bird life. Other than safari you can choose to visit the Buddha retreat centre or the Bor dam in the evenings. The pleasant breeze coming from the dam along with tea and snacks makes the whole atmosphere peaceful and serene. To add to that you will get the taste of a village life where the evenings come early, as a city dweller what else do you want..!!! Over all this is one such weekend getaway which will give you TIME for yourself and with your immediate family members. The slow paced life amongst nature and wildlife will make you think and re think about it well after you have gone..

Small but important Tiger Reserve in Wardha, some 60 kms from Nagpur. Good for Jungle Safari (need to book online in advance) and family picnic at the nearby Bor Dam.

Good place for Jungle Safari. This forest is small compare to Chandrapur. And rarely you will get chance to see the tiger. Other than this you will find other wild animals like deer, bear, wild monkey, Owl, peacock etc. Chandrapur safari is far better and more thrilling.... This place is good for one day picnic. It is in between Nagpur and Wardha. In Jungle Safari you will get Gypsy with one driver and one guide. Six tourist can accommodate in this vehicle. It is totally safe and thrilling. Charges are nominal.. Overall good experience...

Nice moderate size jungle for a short break. Safari Jypsy for 6 people and a guide costed 2300 and additional 1200 ( portal booking) charges. Safari duration is 3 to 4 hours although it will be rare to see tiger in this jungle while Cheetal , nilgai , peacock and langur monkey are commonly sighted. AC rooms at mtdc are 2100 and non AC 1400 ( check exact current rates though ). Also local vendors from neighbouring villages sell snacks and local food as well just in case. Went on weekday and there wasn't much rush of tourists. Enjoy your tour and keep the expectations low :)

I think this Tiger Reserve is the smallest in India. Small but you will still be able to see a variety of animals including Tiger "Yuvraj" The King Of Bor Tiger Reserve. Plan your visit, book tickets (online booking available), book gypsy (online booking is not available, you need to contact a gypsy agent over the phone). Reach the gate of the reserve at 4 am and enjoy your ride.
