If you are in Ooty, especially around the Boat House, you should try the coffee or tea at the Bollywood Tea Shop. The tea is freshly brewed (not reheated) and the instant coffee is well made. They also have a stock of all basic necessities and packaged water. The warmth of the father and son team running this place makes this small and cozy shop more special. They are kind and refused to accept money for the heated fresh milk we needed for a baby in our travel group (2 times a day for 3 days). We had a lovely chat and they took me down their memory lane, sharing pics and the story behind the name of their tea shop.
All your required necessities under one roof. From toiletries to your morning hot drinksand bread omlette it's available here. Since the area has very few to no shops in the early part of the morning, this is your go to joint. They close around 10:30 AM (because of the check-out time and lack of crowd which totally makes sense) and reopen around 2PM and runs till 8-9 at night.
A Very Authentic tea shop which serves you a really good tea. One stop for all your basic needs. And it's fun to listen to all the stories from uncle down the lane about Ooty and the celebrities he met..A great host for allll!! Would like to suggest this shop to anyone who comes to Ooty to enjoy one of the most aromatic and yummy tea which is very cost effective and has sufficient quantity!
