BNB Food Experiences - Bakery and Cake Shop in Kolkata - Kolkata, India

Ordered a few times from Srimoyee and it has been my go to preference for any kind of customised cakes and desserts. Also, brownie points for her patience when it comes to dealing with a confused customer like me given the huge number of flavours and categories to choose from.

For the uninitiated, I love cakes, and I am obsessed about cakes. However, I do not like cakes that are just sweet and unidimensional in taste. I am a person who is more inclined towards savoury than sweet. Thus, my cakes need to be sweet and savoury. They are expected to have texture, yet feel like a dream of clouds. In short, I want cakes to dissipate in my mouth like thin air, yet it has to be an explosion of flavours. And for someone with tall demands, the most proximate baker available in Salt Lake and New Town area is BNB Food Experiences by Srimoi. As of now I have ordered 3 customized celebration cakes namely, chilli- chocolate ganache cake (photo attached), Bailey's infused chocolate mousse cake (photo attached) and vanilla- blueberry cream cake. I have also ordered from her Christmas selections, the boozy Christmas plum cake and the Bailey's Chocolate cake. Anyone who has tasted these cakes, could not restrict themselves to just a single helping. You are forced to come back for a second and a third helping. The sponges of all her cakes (except plum cakes, as they are of a different category) are pillowy soft and, most importantly very moist. They hold their shape, yet melts in your mouth. Her frosting are never overpowering, and are a perfect compliment to the sponge. The textures of her ganache and mousse are smooth as silk, but are flavour bombs. The chilli-chocolate ganache was a 1 pound tall cake and it is what dreams are made of- it had the sweetness and the bitterness from the dark chocolate, the kick of heat and crunch from the chilli flakes, and the whipped ganache was light and fluffy (I wish I could share a cross-section). It is a must try for people who like to experiment with their taste buds (The cake with spiral candles is the chilli-chocolate ganache cake). It may look simple and deceiving, but a flavour monster resides below those ombre shades. The Bailey's Chocolate Mousse cake too was a one pound wide cake and is a must try for chocolate lovers. The chocolate gives it a bitter-sweet taste, and the Bailey's give it a distinct coffee liqueur aftertaste. The mousse itself is so light and creamy, that one might want to stock jarfuls of them to satiate their dessert cravings. The boozy Christmas plum cake is a gem, and has the perfect ratio of nuts to sponge. The tartness of the cake is what does the job for me. The photos attached should do the job for explaining Srimoi's cake styling skills. Her cakes are not only a pleasure for the eyes, but they are so inviting that you want to devour them, and once you have had a bite of it, you want to eat it all by yourself. Also to mention, my brother (Tushanal) only shared 2 tiny pieces of his birthday cake, and ate the rest of it (His cake was the Bailey's Chocolate Mousse cake). Also to be noted, that one might find Srimoi's cakes a tad bit costlier than the commonly available cakes in the market. So, please do understand that designer clothes ain't cheap. These baked goodies are hand-made with some of the freshest and best quality ingredients. Thus, the price tag. It would be injustice not to talk about the proprietor Srimoi Bhattacharya. She is an absolute dream to work with. She is extremely considerate, patient, and insightful. Srimoi is a thorough professional and is a master of her craft. Her understanding of flavour profiles and her excitement to challenge herself and push boundaries is what I love the most.

The best home baker that I know in Kolkata. I was first recommended to use Srimoyi's (THE BAKER) baking talent by a friend of mine who worked for JW Marriott Kol, when I was looking for my wedding cake options. I was on the verge of giving the order to JW Marriott but thank goodness I listened to my friend and never regretted my decision. Ever since my wedding cake I have only ordered cakes from Srimoyi. Srimoyi's speciality is in her quality, flavours, pricing and understanding the client's requirements and delivering the very best. The most wonderful and the genuine part of Srimoyi is that she really cares for the art of baking and would never cheat you. Srimoyi would always guide you to the correct quantity, flavour and design of the cake. And please don't be fooled by the term "HOME BAKER" as from the attached images one can judge the quality, finish and professionalism of her craft. For my family she is our go-to baker.

This lady makes all 'Cake Dreams' come true! This is my 3rd time taking cakes from her.. Polite and professional! From the colour, sheen, texture, flavour, everything was exactly as I had asked for...Perfect to the T! There's a variety of delectable flavours to choose from. Ordered Cookies, Veg Buns and Meat loaf from BNB and every thing tasted soo soooo yum! The cookies melted in the mouth and tasted so heavenly. The Buns were very soft and tasty. Coming to the Chicken .... THE MEAT LOAF is outstanding! Everything were so scrumptious, form now on, I'm a regular customer of BNB Also coming to the packaging, Srimoi packs everything so neatly and ensures that her customer has received the products well. She takes care of every minute details. Keep Baking for us!

Excellent texture and taste. Icing on the cake BNB executes whatever design I request for, and sometimes even comes up with suggestions on better designs etc! My go to for all cake requirements...

I've taken one theme customised cake on my wife's birthday. The cake was just awesome and very much fresh. Everyone at home loved the cake very much. It's based on black-current flavour, the taste was delicious (not at all like very much sweet). The detailing on the cake was too precise, just like how I'd requested for. I'll definitely give it a go for a second go if I'm asked for.
