Blue Whale Fossil - Zoo in Dholakuva, Gandhinagar - Gandhinagar, India

You will find a huge skeleton of Blue whale which is the largest mammal ever exists on the earth. It is so huge that it will not fit to your vision until you go little far. Nice to bring kids to have some infotainment. You will find the info banner enlisting all the facts of blue whale.

The skeleton is 107 feet long and 90 feet wide, and it is the only complete blue whale skeleton on display in India. The skeleton is mounted in a lifelike pose, and it gives visitors a glimpse of the sheer size and majesty of these amazing creatures. Here are some of the things I would improve about the exhibit: ->The information about the blue whale could be more in-depth. -> They should've maintained it properly because when i visited here, a very bad smell came out from the skeleton so i think they have to figure it out correctly.

Might be one of the very few places where you can see the blue whale skeleton from so close. Near the Whale fossil, crocodiles can be viewed. Chance to view small crocodiles from as close as possible is the main attraction.

Blue whale skeleton kept here one big and one small. People may visit and see. You may also see living crocodiles.

Indroda park covers the area of 400 ha in Gandhinagar. It is divided into two park one is Indroda and another is Wilderness Park which is near to Sabarmati river. It Maintains by the GEER (Gujarat Ecological Education and Research)Foundation. it has Zoo, Skeletons of sea mammals (Whale), Botanical Garden and Dinosaur fossil park. The Zoo has about 120 birds with 42 different species. it also has the snake park some them are venomous and non-venomous. The botanical garden has around 300 trees, a greenhouse, cacti house with 200 species 250 medicinal plants. It also has Kalrav enclave. It used for various activities aimed at creating mass awareness about the environment through dramas, puppet shows, quiz contests and such others. Eco point (Shop) has nature education materials such as books, periodicals, maps, quiz cards, CDs, etc. Voluntary interpreters for providing guidance to the visitors-specially on holidays when visitors are received in large numbers. A dinosaur fossil park at Indroda wherein the fossilized remains, as well as life-sized models of this prehistoric fauna of Gujarat, will be displayed. The last section will consist of the Tertiary and Quaternary periods part of the "Age of Mammals"- Cenozoic era and this will showcase the exciting range of mammalian evolution and their coming of age. Human origin and development through the last 10,000 year will also be traced.

As it's name blue whale skeleton it's humongous in size, off course because it's blue whale largest mammal present on the planet earth. It seems like it's not real it's made up of wood or POP . Maybe I'm wrong but some parts is look like that. Details also mentioned there if you want to know more about this skeleton or so.

There is superb baby blue whale skeleton and also a skeleton of Dugang (Sea cow). Must watch.

Just an enclosure with the skeleton, bigger than we have in Vadodara. It is just one of the section of the Indroda Nature Park. There is also a lawn so ideal for a quick rest if you are tired.
