Blue velvet beach resort - Resort hotel in Rameswaram - Ramanathapuram, India

Staying in Blue velvet is like living in our own resort. Beach front view was amazing, Host John was amazing very friendly and they are serving home cooked food was great. Nothing fancy, but it has fantastic view from the room.

Located next to the beach, very good ambience. Can spend time here peacefully without any disturbance from outer world. May not be suitable for couples or family but this is a tailor made spot for boys and people who want to spend time peacefully

I stayed as a family. We had booked two rooms. It was a very nice stay. The hotel owner Mr. Thiru Thirumurugan and the assistant Mr. Prince took good care. Especially the home cooked food was very tasty and the fish and crab fry and gravy were prepared and served very tasty. The beach is very close and the two days were very pleasant enjoying the scenery. A comfortable and affordable place to stay as a family. I express my gratitude to the hotel owner.

For this cost, Still can be better. Over all its ok. Not bad not good. Very average

I would like to point the pros first, before going to the cons. Spacious rooms and parking space. Location easy to find. Good host. Even though there are so many cons in the resort, the hosts are good. They try to help the guests with whatever options possible. Silent and peaceful place. Felt secure. Now coming to the cons, I booked the resort after seeing so many positive reviews over the internet, expecting the stay to be a lot memorable. But the reality was different. While entering the resort, noticed that it was not really a resort, rather just 2 rooms and a lot of empty space in front of the rooms. It felt so much empty right away entering inside. I could see so many people praised the resort in reviews, but it looks like either they are new to beaches or water activities. If you have stayed at proper beach resorts and involved in water activities, this place would disappoint you. I understand Rameswaram is a holy place and not a fun place like Goa or any other beach, but still most of the guests who prefer to stay in the beach resorts would like to spend a lot of time in the beach playing, swimming, etc. But this beach is not at all ideal for swimmers as the sea floor is full of stones, and even the hosts are not recommending to go beyond some 20 meters or so. This beach is so soft and literally there are no waves at all, yet we were advised not to go beyond some 20 meters. It's not just us, but we haven't seen anyone swimming in this beach at all. Some of the major expectations in staying in a beach resort is Anytime access to the beach Fresh sea food prepared and served from the resort restaurant Camp fire But in the resort, No direct access to the beach from the resort. Eventhough there is a separate gate, it was closed the whole time during our stay, and we had to use the temple route to access the beach. We were told the gate was locked because of the function that happened nearby, but the function was already over by the time we went and that place itself was looking abandoned, yet the gate was not opened. Resort restaurant is not functional and the food is being bought from outside hotels if asked No camp fire (we were told it was because of heavy wind, but there was no noticeable wind as such) Bathroom floor is not properly laid, outlet is set higher and the waste water gets clogged inside the bathroom itself No rack/cupboard in the room to keep things No dust bin in room No towels provided (excuse goes to Corona, but most of the travelers are now vaccinated and most of the hotels are already serving as normal as before) Substandard blankets No water bottles provided, rather water is given in a jug like a budget hotel We were told that the resort development was paused because of covid, and a lot more development ideas are in plan. But the charge is equivalent to what's charged in proper resorts. Tent camping is shown in some guest photos, but it's not allowed now.

We are from New Zealand, and visiting a family trip to blue velvet beach resort was a beautiful experience Nice and clean place mainly love it there for its friendly and total care. We are very highly recommend

Very nice place to relax and rejuvenate. Only two rooms are available now. Beach is nice to enjoy and time spent there will be memorable forever. My son enjoyed a snorkelling .Good hospitality by the staff and tasty home cook food. Thanks to thiru and John.
