Black Sugar - Cafe in Thokottu - Dakshina Kannada, India

A small town coffee shop on the mangalore highway. It's nice and cozy, especially at night.I have tried their chicken burger , pizza and cappuccino, and they were all delicious. They are the only cafe around mangalore to open late night till 3.30 to 4 am. The only problem is they don't allow us to park the vehicle opp to their cafe at night.

SUGAR HAS GONE BLACK!!! - Visited here one midnight while returning home from Udupi. It was so late that no other coffee shops were open. Had coffee here and rested for a few minutes. - It is a best place for highway travelers to rest. - It will be open 24 hours, a staff said. - Many beautiful spots to capture attractive photos. - They serve both indoor and outdoor. - Cakes, bakes, jcoffee and milkshakes are available here. - The atmosphere is very good. - I think it is best to visit after evening to experience more excitement. - It is a perfect place for birthday celebrations, parties and more. - Once can enjoy coffee watching cricket on TV. - The interior are well designed. - Service may be slightly delayed during peak times. - The price is a bit high. ( Recommended)

Located in kallapu, next to thokkotu and before netravati river. Very good interior space with nice ambiance and they do have outdoor space too. Cofee is below par and the honeycake was 5/5. Not a heavy crowded space Very good and calm space where you can have good time with family and friends. Inshort very good place with average food.

It was my first visit in black sugar, actually today afternoon we were visit so sun light so hot too much.... And we reached there, we order..... 1) capuchinao 2) orio shake Amount is 230/- Capuchino not nice some what good that's all Orio shake taste nice but... Lesss quantities no worth it this money... Money waste... Really.... So best u want to order is mojito.... Like.... But 230 my money waste. This place mainly for pic capture, nice environment and vibe also... Calm... Place.... When am visit that time calm no one there... We 3 only so.... It.... So if u planned to visit here come in evening only.... Then only here other shops, children park will be open..... If u cum in morning and afternoon so wasting ur time..... Only black sugar is only opened... Not open street walk..... Actually today's awfull day for me becz of heavy sun light and less number of shop...., so plzz cum better in evening to night so colourfull night light arraignment are there.... If u planned to cum only for.. Pic capture then I will choose this place....

Very poor service... we ordered tea 30 minutes ago ,they don't have mineral water , table also not cleaned properly.

The place and the ambience is awesome. The food is also good. The pizzas and burgers are not up to the mark. The Pizzas seemed like they were not made using an Owen. The burger buns were also not fresh and tend to break easily. The soft drinks are great. The place is good for nice pictures and video shoots.

Title: Terrible Experience - Slow Service and Rude Staff (Visited on Friday night, August 4) I recently visited this cafe on a Friday night, August 4, and had an incredibly disappointing experience. I ordered a simple hot chocolate, and it took a whopping hour to be served. The slow service alone would have been frustrating, but what made matters worse was the rude behavior of the staff when I inquired about the delay. The lack of professionalism displayed by the staff was astonishing. When I politely asked how much longer it would take to receive my order, their response was shockingly rude and dismissive. It's disheartening to encounter such unhelpful behavior in a place that is supposed to provide a welcoming atmosphere for customers. Had I not pre-paid for my order, I would have undoubtedly left the cafe without waiting any longer. Unfortunately, I was left with no choice but to endure the bad service and wait for my order to finally arrive. The overall experience left me frustrated, disappointed, and with no desire to return. I hope the management takes this review seriously and addresses the issues at hand. No customer should have to deal with such a combination of slow service and disrespectful treatment. Until I see improvements in both the service and staff behavior, I cannot recommend this cafe to anyone seeking a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience.

Extremely disappointing experience. Horribly burnt food served multiple times. Place is extremely hot despite the AC being on 16 degrees. Wrong billing of items. Average shakes and food. Basically, whatever could go wrong during our visit, all went wrong. Thankfully, staff were decent enough to replace it, but with equally disappointing food. Edit: Went there again, met the owner and this time the service was much better. Whatever suggestions we have were taken into consideration so upgrading the initial one star to a four star.
