Bishop's Falls - Featured Reviews (244)
Located 12 km away from Shillong, Bishop Falls is one of the most scenic and famous waterfalls in North East India. Nature lovers come here to spend time amidst tranquility and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. There are different vantage points from where you can witness the charm of Elephant Falls. The interesting part of Elephant Falls is a two-tier waterfall cascading down the rocks. These curved falls catch the eye of the visitors and the surrounding green vegetation makes it an ideal picnic spot. Elephant Falls sections into three smaller waterfalls and the combined stream drops down the fern-covered rocks below.
It's an awesome place. I must compare this place with haven. It's clean and fresh air would impress anyone. Natural beauty is beyond imagination. Specially the water falling. Local peoples are very friendly and cooperative. Food and other goods are available and price is a bit more than average. Highly recommended to visit this nice place.
Nice and short hike from Nongkseh rim. Waterfall is extremely polluted (Feb 23). Not recommended.
The Bishop Falls is a three-tiered waterfall with a height of 135 metres (443 ft). The Bishop' Falls is often referred to as the twin brother of the Beadon Falls since both tumble down the same escarpment into a yawning gorge. Beadon Falls and Bishop Falls are off the NH 40 at Mawprem.A narrow road at Mawlai takes one to a view point from where both the falls can be seen together
Not worth visiting, you won't find any waterfall there until or unless it's a rainy season. But kudos to google map for giving the correct directions.
Well I'm from mawprem my place is damn lit so don't be jealous!!
One star for Google directions. There may have been a viewpoint long ago. Now the point Google shows is inside private property. You can see neither the waterfall nor the valley and no sign of a river.
This is not a Tourist Attraction... Just a historic falls nearby Houses...Filled with dirt that dwells from people's kitchen who stay nearby the falls but the view is awesome.. The View is mesmerizing as well as it is a great place for the joggers but one should not visit the falls during day or night time a bit of unsafe place..
Open space with great views. On a clear day you can see the village at the base of the valley. Great for sunsets. With clouds rolling in the place looks more Majestic and beautiful. Heavy clouds are mostly visible during the noon and clouds get light

An unvisited tourist place in Shillong. Best water-falls with less crowd. The road going to this place is small but scenic. It will take you inside the rhino base camp and then passing by the village you will get the spot at the end of the road. Must
The view is really good. Specially the early morning sunrise, the sunset and the night view of the city from the top of it is really heart melting. Although walking all the way up was really hard and tiring but in the end you won't regret the view.
