This is the birthplace of Shivaji, the emperor and founder of the Maratha Empire. Here is a small building with the room where Shivaji was born and a few other rooms. No tickets required to enter the monument. It was very crowded during my visit- Sunday evening.

The sacred place where Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born and spent his childhood. Located at the top of Shivneri Fort, the historical structure is strong and the surroundings are vast and beautiful. A single door entrance/exit leads to a queue to get in and out. Inside the structure there's a room with a statue of the beloved Maratha Emperor. The stairs reach to the 1st floor where it is said, Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as a child then used to listen to stories narrated by his mother. Jai Bhavani !
