This is supposed to be one of the Protected Marshland areas in the country. However, callousness of the local authorities have made it a dumping yard. As we cross this place, there is a stink all around. In spite of that, the coolness you feel while you cross is an indication of how nature can be so pleasant if we conserve them. The state Government has developed a park around a portion of this area (unfortunately a major portion is being used as the Solid Waste dumping yard..) This place looks so nice during the winter and rainy season with us getting a chance to see quite a few birds. Sincerely wish this place is conserved and maintained as one of the ECO Space on the city.
Housing more than 200 resident and wintering bird species, Chennai (formerly known as Madras) has long been a haven for bird watchers. It is the one of the few urban areas in India with diverse range of birds including greater flamingo, black baza, osprey, Indian eagle-owl, Coppersmith barbet, Spot billed pelican and pied avocet can be seen. The following are some known birding hotspots in and around Chennai.
This is a best place for Nature Photographers ( Especially different kind of birds ). It's actually a small shelter which has a small stone seat for sitting, keep your belongings and for some short stops during travelling. This point located on the left side of the road just before a small bridge (when traveling towards pallavarm). Highly recommended for photography, Especially Evening sunset is seems to be great to enjoy at this particular point. But there will be no space to park your vehicle so you have to park on the roadside itself and that won't be an issue.
Please protect this treasure Chennai citizens. You will deeply regret losing this place. All photos posted with review taken on same day,
Request government to takeup beautification of the place especially the sides on the road/Shore of lake (Kamakshi Hospital Junction to Chennai One) with walking/Cycling spaces.
They have turned this place into a dump yard,it's very sad to see , government should take immediate action . Alos for photographers if u go there ,will find quite few birds but minimum of 500-800 mm tele lens is must !
One of the best places to get a visual treat for the Nature Lovers. It is also a great place to learn photography which stimulates your photogenic view of nature. Great time to visit is between 5 am to 7 am and 5pm to 6:30 pm.

Went early morning on a weekday and it was a very pleasant experience. Clean beach and not too many people. We walked along the water and saw some people meditating or doing yoga.
Over time Marina and Elliots have become so crowded, filthy and commercial and Mahabalipuram being no different, we really lost interest in Chennai beaches. This beach has come as a savior. Clean and neat. Less crowd and decent crowd. Fewer shops in
Loved the temple at first visit. This temple is not like other temples. There are many pillars and a lot of statues. Lighting is very good during the evening. One must visit during sunset. There is a place for sitting and meditation. Due to the templ
A Serene Paradise by the Sea I recently had the pleasure of visiting uthandi beach, and it was nothing short of a serene paradise by the sea. From the moment I set foot on the sandy shores, I knew I was in for a memorable experience. The first thin

My favourite beach spot in ECR. Safe to go in daytime. No shopkeepers or vendors available here. So this is just for the day of the visit. But mostly it is flooded by Photographers and their models. Cars and bikes shall be parked at their own risk.
This beach is a clean and peaceful beach compared to other nearby beaches of ECR road. You can enjoy amazing sunrise view here with a cup of coffee, available from 4 o clock in the morning. It is quite a safe place to reach there early morning even i
This is good place to spend time for free with family or alone. Blue water. Crowded at some places. Lots of stalls, store where you can find different types of foods, tea or coffee. Horse riding is available.
Amazing designer who customise and tailors the pieces so well ! The work she does is completely handmade and the outcome is really perfect. The blouses fit me beautifully and there was no alterations required.
