Quite a beautiful spot with great view. Peaceful! One can spend a good 2-3 hours with the loved ones, family and friends. Do include this in your North Bengal sightseeing.
However, this place is filled with littering. We should be way more mindful about this. Nature is giving us everything and we are unapologetically and shamefully ruining it.
Nice place alongside the river Jaldhaka and on the Indo-Bhutan border. The next nearest place on the Bhutan side is Tendu.
Bindu is a village in the Gorubathan CD block in the Kalimpong subdivision of the Kalimpong district in West Bengal, India. Bindu lies in the Indo-Bhutan border, India's second oldest dam is situated at Bindu on River Jaldhaka. It is located 85 km from Jalpaiguri city.
Bindu is the last village on the Indian side bordering Bhutan. It is known for its landscape with Jaldhaka River, hills and forests. There is a conjunction of three streams at Bindu. The three streams are known as Bindu Khola, Dudh Pokhri and Jaldhaka that originates from the Kupup lake, a small glacial lake in Sikkim. The combined streams meet at Bindu to form the Jaldhaka river. There is a dam known as Bindu Dam over the Jaldhaka river which is used for controlling water supply to the Jaldhaka Hydel Project at Jhalong and acts as a bridge for crossing over to Bhutan. However, one can cross the dam only by foot. Recently steel bridge construction will be done so that light weight vehicle can pass over.
People of different tribes live in this village. Most of the people are engaged in orange and cardamom cultivation, which are exported to other places within India and abroad.
Beautiful Place, Bindu Dam is present in Bhutan and West Bengal Border.
This place is quite isolated, barely you may find any crowd here. Nothing much to explore here in Bindu, one can buy soviner from Bhutani merchants here! We visited here during May, 2023 and the weather was sunny! No entry fee required.
Good place to go on a day trip. The mountains are especially beautiful in the monsoons, when it is cloudy. Be careful of local hawkers, and don't buy anything at the advertised prices as they are jacked up for unsuspecting tourists.
Nothing much for a tourist spot. . A barrage , which there is the stream which is largely dry during summer and winter and you can do rock climbing and balancing act to soak your feet in the running stream water. . . .the water is pleasantly cold and will wash off the fatigue . There are some temporary stalls selling handmade xhoxolates, Bhutanese wine and whiskey at cheap rate (authenticity not guaranteed). But the chocolates are good especially a type of sugar coated Imli , which was tongue tickling.
Very nice place. It was very well maintained but the only problem is that the food prices in the restaurants there are extremely high with low quality.
Nicely curated & maintained. Wonderful landscaping & manicured. Riverside resort is really very relaxing & provides good opportunities for holidaying tourists as Jaldhaka river runs southward, through various bends. While enjoying tea under canopy ju
