It was a beautiful experience climbing up the mountain to visit the divine Bijli Mahadev. On the trek paths you might come across the adorable dogs , horses and goats. It's surrounded by pine trees and a beautiful view with awesome weather.

Really enjoyed the trek to Bijli Mahadev temple. It takes around 1 hour from Kullu to reach the trek start location and then around 25-40 minutes to the top depending on your speed and stamina. The view at the top is breathtaking and it's quite peaceful up there inside the temple. There are shops at the start, middle and close to the temple where you can eat drink or sit but there aren't any washrooms except for the top.

Nice place with extra ordinary track. There are two paths to reach Bijli Mahadev Temple, one that is officially made by governing body, which has stairs and was good for elderly people and ladies till we visited in May 2023. And another one was jungle track which was very exciting and breathing taking route, but we enjoyed this tracking route for climbing and returned from stairs that was very easy and almost all pilgrims use stairs. Temple has ours own history. We got some excellent views both while tracking and from top of the hill.

Beautiful location with a great trek for beginners. The temple as such is a simple wooden structure with just the shiv ling and an iron pillar in front which is believed to soak the thunder to protect the earth from the castatrophe of nature, but the view is just amazing. Bhuntar, Kullu and snow capped Parvati Hills are visible from the site. The trek from the last motorable site is 1.5-2 hrs uphill and 1 hrs downhill. But the bus at this site comes only at 9 from Kullu and leaves at 4 20 PM and 5 PM. Rest, there are frequent buses from Kullu to Chansari village from where it takes 0.5-1 hour trek to reach the last motorable site from where the actual trek to the temple through forest starts. Functional washrooms are available near the temple. Also, there are several maggi, momo and tea stalls available nearby in tents operated by local villagers.

If you are in kullu(or planning to go there), you must visit this temple too. This visit will have trekking, spectacular views(merging of beas and parvathi river) and best part will be of witnessing mahadev. This place is good for camping too, you must spend your time here with your loved ones

Bijli Mahadev temple offers a mesmerizing trekking experience To enhance your trekking adventure, it is recommended not to use the stairs but instead opt for the old forest trek route. This alternative path makes both ascending and descending easier, allowing you to fully enjoy the journey. This route is approx 100meters ahead of the new trek route when u arrive at the start of the trek point. it is essential to carry an ample supply of drinking water to stay hydrated along the way. Being hydrated is crucial for a comfortable and safe journey. For those looking to extend their stay and immerse themselves in the natural surroundings, there are camping sites available in close proximity to the temple. This presents a unique opportunity to connect with nature, unwind, and spend a peaceful night in the serene surroundings.

Hello People, Last month i visited this auspicious temple with my friend. To reach the temple you have two ways one is from Kullu and another is from Kasol road. We went there through Kullu road by bike (Kullu road is newly built & Kasol road is rough but it's short, I won't recommend Kasol road unless you've four wheeler/ 4x4) and we have to park our vehicle at the end point and start trekking from there. This trek will take approximate 1 hour to reach the destination (1-1.5Km). You'll mesmerized by climbing rocks and small paths, once you reach upside you'll reach to lush green ground, get stalls and various food options, of course Maggie is favourite amongst all and taste is different then regular one. While walking to the temple you'll find mountains covered with snow both the sides. After all the hustle-bustle, finally you come to Bijli Mahadev (Lord Shiva), and everything calms you down, get relaxed like never before, felt soothing and the divine energy awakens. It's been observed that thunder strikes on Shiv Ling once in every twelve years, that's why its named Bijli Mahadev. We enjoyed every moment we spent in that divine place.
