Bidesh Ghar Restaurant - Restaurant in Puri - Puri, India

Location: Close to Bharat seva ashram. Food quality and quantity: Quantity is good. Even one plate can be eaten by two. Food tastes good. Price: Price is bit high than usual. This hotel remains busy through out the day. Often you need to wait before you get a table. We tried chicken and fish thali, veg fried rice, chilli chicken,roti, mattar paneer. Service was good.

Food quality is ok but prices are a little bit higher than food quality and negative feedback is they don't give any extra rice/dal/sabji with any of thali.

It's an Authentic Oria & Bengali Restaurant near Puri Swargadwar. From the non-veg menu we tried a few item for lunch. Crab masala was delicious, medium spicy and well cooked it was served as a part of Crab thali. It can be order separately and as per quantity can be shared by two. Chingri (Prawn) Malai Curry was a well cooked authentic Bengali dish. Prawn was fresh, the quantity was good enough as per the price. Mutton curry was the show stopper it was Extremely delicious, every bite of it is like a mouth full of tenderly cooked juicy mutton with rich spices curry. Tried Mushroom masala and Paratha from the Veg menu and I must say I was bowled out by the taste of Mushroom Masala . Place is easy to find out it's right next to Bharat Sevashram. It is a very busy food joint, Sometimes you have to wait to get a table. Owner and stuffs are very helpful. Try to reach this place early to avoid the crowd. I hope foody people will like this place. During the peak hour restaurant can be found overcrowded. Try take away option then. There is no A/C so some people might feel uncomfortable to dine in during summer peak hour. Otherwise if we focus on Food this place is awesome.

Great Food, good ambience but location is difficult to locate. Great food in good price so too crowded (I waited for 15 mins that too standing near a couple's table to get a seat- as advised by the waiter not by choice). All foods are cooked bengali style so expect a mouth watering savoury meal every time you visit them. Must try: crab curry, hilsa fish besar (restaurant say it- mustard hilsa), prawn curry etc.

Decent place for economic Bengali cuisine in Puri. Near Swargadwar. Many veg and nonveg option. Dinein and Carryout is available, but delivery is not. Last time (mar 2023) the rohu fish was not very fresh. Egg curry was very spicy. Overall a cheap Bengali restaurant.

Food Quality is too Bad ************************ Visited the place on 24.10.23. The restaurant was overcrowded. It seemed like a fish market. After waiting for almost half an hour, we found seats. After ordering the food, their service was superfast, but the foods were too bad and spicy. The size of the rohu fish in rohu curry was just microscopic. You can hardly give two bites to the fish. The vegetables were also same in nature and taste. I only liked their steamed rice, alubhaja and fast service. If you visit the restaurant for a decent dining experience, you will be disappointed. But if you are in search for a cheap restaurant only to fill your stomach without any concern for your taste buds or health, this may be a good option.

This restaurant has won my heart. I am such a person who has visited Puri for more than 29 times and every time I visit Puri this restaurant is in my list always for lunch. If you love Hilsha, yes, I repeat, if you are an "Ilish" lover then this place is for you. At the cost of 220/- only what size of fresh Hilsha piece you get in your plate is beyond imagination. Fish is no doubt fresh. Actually the fishes arie bought daily and everyday's stock is cleared. So there is no possibility that you will get rotten fish, preserved fish whatever. You will always get the good quality fresh fish here. Not only Hilsha, you will get other fishes like Pabda Jhal, Pursey, Rohu everything. Apart from that Crabs, Prawns are also available that too of very good quality. Chicken, Egg are common and available there. I will recommend you try the Ilish here. You won't get a single piece Hilsha below 500-600 in other restaurants that too not fresh and small pieces. Come here to enjoy the fish only. Other foods like mixed veg, shukto are also very tasty. Overall it's a value for money restaurant serving the best food at Puri. It's your time to enjoy !!

Very dirty restaurant. Food quality was too low. And the price was too high. I will not recommend this to anyone. Service and waiters' behaviour was good. But tables were too dirty. The bad smell of wasted foods was very annoying. I took a plate of egg curry but couldn't have it. It's gravy was smelt as some old cooked fish. I will recommend to check the Mitra cafe atleast once. It was better than worthy.
