BhubanBari Heritage Home Stay - Bed & breakfast in Kolkata - Kolkata, India

This was my second visit to Bhubanbari, and I absolutely loved it! I had a couple of friends visiting from out of town, and it being their first time in Calcutta, I wanted them to have a 'real' experience of living in a typical Calcutta home. Of course, no other place to select other than Bhubanbari! Gaurav da is most patient with explaining routes, answering calls, dealing with queries, everything, really! He also does not constantly pressurize you with a "make payment right now or we cannot hold a room for you"! It almost feels like you're dealing with family! Bhubanbari is very easily accessible, by any means of transport found in Calcutta. And once you're there, it's just an absolutely pleasurable experience to "stay" in. Free access to the kitchen, the terrace/lounge, and the corridors of the beautifully redecorated heritage home, all count for a celestial experience! I'd keep coming back here always, and recommend every traveler to do so as well!

Rooms were clean. Place is absolutely enchanting if you are a nature lover. There staff that greeted us wasn't very polite was very reluctant to provide wifi password or guide us to where is what. However the evening staff was very sweet made a very satisfying home cooked meal quanity was more than enough. It is a good getaway from city life inside the city

My stay at BhubanBari was nothing short of amazing. To visit for the first time & get to live in a heritage home is a definite uptick. I booked a room for my last night in the city. I wished I was there in days with better weather. Definitely coming back.

I'm planning for Kolkata personal visit in next month, After searching hotel in Kolkata near by Sham Bazar, Regarding stay i was discussed with my friends Who have stayed in Kolkata last to last week with family in same palace Bhuvabanbadi, Got feedback very bad about this palace So I'm changing my mindset and looking another palace, Is this only naming with heritagerest is no comments

This place is like home to me. One can stay here to experience the quaint, calm charm of Kolkata.

1 star because - bedroom was unclean. Cigarette buds and ash was on the corner of the bedside table. - bedsheets and pillows were old, smelly and dusty. - garden area had private board but other tourists and staff were coming in randomly without any intimation - bathroom had large enough holes that made sounds of mice audible - kitchen was messed up, things were dirty and unhygienic. I used my bottles for drinking water. I was very excited with the reviews and pictures before going here. But was disappointed to see effort put in maintenance is not on par with presentation.

This is the perfect abode to enjoy all aspects of the city or joy. The vibrant color and paintings beautifully complement the heritage look of these comfortable rooms. This gem is located in a prime north kolkata lane and wonderfully connected to the rest of the city and yet peacefully hidden. Gaurav has been a super host and I would recommend Bhubanbari to everyone visiting the city for an authentic tic experience
