The unique thing about this trek is after trekking you can have darshan of bhimashankar jyotirlinga. Best time to visit this place is during monsoon the adventurous route with green lush surrounding, refreshing breeze and morning fog makes trekking even more exciting. I don't recommend this trek for beginners as it takes around 4hrs to complete the trek from ganesh ghat. You will find marking on stones and on trees I really appreciate the locals who have well maintained the trek route I hardly found any trash. Night trek are quite risky as we found 4snakes lots of crabs and scorpio. Please don't throw waste while trekking.
Tracking is the best experience ever... Must visit if you want to break your limits.. Visit in monsoon with quality friends for extra thrill and adventure...
Would not recommend beginners or even teens to go via Shidi Ghat, Esp. not in monsoon, it is very difficult to trek from that route. Ganesh Ghat would be the safest option for this trek. I could see even intermediate trekkers choosing ganesh ghat. Going via Shidi Ghat is recommended only under expert guidance. In the recent times the conditions of the stairs and the path to take is highly deteriorated unlike what is shown in the YouTube Videos. Please take appropriate grip/gear as this is definitely under difficult treks overall.
One of the best places in Maharashtra if you love trekking and seeing the beauty of nature. I recommend to visit this place in rainy season, although it's a bit difficult to trek during that season but the view from this place is mesmerising, the wind rushing by, the beautiful flora and fauna, everything about this place will add to your wonderful experience. It's a good place to visit in groups and as a photographer this place had added benefit for my portfolio. As you know this place has one of the famous shiv temples that's situated at the top of the mountain and what better way for a trek to finish. The temple provides a sense of accomplishment when you reach there and see all the other people, all of this adds on to the beautiful experience. The villages nearby this place are a sight to see during this season and if you have time you can wander around these village and see beautiful waterfalls
It's awesome trek to do in mansoon. Only experience trekker should do trek via shidi ghat. Beginner should do via ganeshghat... It's it is around 4-5 hours trek.. But experience is really great in mansoon... All flowing waterfall gives really eye pleasing view.
Not better than this, go for it. Trek is around 6 hrs from villege to bhimashankar. In mansoon , with all sightseeing like waterfalls, fog and Nature just awsome. Jai Bham Bhole.
Bhimashankar trek ascend through Sidhi Ghat (guide recommended if attempted for first time in small group) and descend through Ganesh ghat in monsoon season is simply breathtaking, adventurous, filled with fun joy giving waterfalls, streams, lush green forest and grasslands. Khandas villagers were warm, welcoming, helpful. In all a highly recommended trek in the rains....
One of my favorite Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga trek. Ascend via sidi ghat ( shiddii ghaatt ) & descend via Ganesh Ghat. I started this trek in 2002 & still do it every year witout failing in the month of shravan ( shraavnn mhinyaat ).
