Bhim Bhadak Cave - Hindu temple in Golasani - Jodhpur, India

Jodhpur. A huge 'Shivling' weighing 3200 kg is enshrined in the 'Bhimbhadak' Shiva temple in the hills of Bada Bhakhar forest area, in front of Kaylana lake. It is considered to be the biggest Shivling in Jodhpur. When seen from a distance, Bhimbhadak looks like a huge rock. The natural structure is such that it seems as if this huge boulder is swinging from one side to the other. Legend has it that during the Mahabharata period, the Pandavas performed penance for five days under the Bhim Bhadak hill during a year of exile. There is also a Vaishnav Mata temple in a cave beneath the rock. Bhimbhadak has been the abode of saints and sages for centuries. At present, access to the Bhim Bhadak site under the Army is allowed only after showing the identity card at the check post and entering the name and address in the register. According to historians, Maharaja Mansingh of Jodhpur also did penance for some time under Bhimbhadak hill for mental peace. Swami Swaroopanand did penance for 40 years in 'Hans Nirvana' monastery located in Bhimbhadak.

Peaceful place with very spectacular view of mountains

Feels like we are in Lap of mother, Yes it's nature mother,, feel soothing and relax, must visit place in morning. Best to be visited during monsoon season, you can enjoy few natural waterfall, which can be viewed during rainy season only. There's a mystery cave inside temple, steep and narrow don't know where it ends as other end of the cave is still unknown.
