Bharatpur Forest Lodge - Hotel in Bharatpur, Shreenagar Rural - Bharatpur, India

Location is great in the middle of the jungle. It's a silent place to hear so many bird calls and animal sounds. Rooms are spacious. Services and restaurant are excellent. Food is great and tasty. One can spot jackals, peacocks and deers in the backyard. It's a pin drop silence zone. A different world an altogether rich experience. Honestly didn't feel like leaving the place. Very nice

Overpriced, outdated and small rooms. They also charge you to be dropped by your car. You can't book tickets to the park from there so in the morning you have to go back to the park entrance anyway, which defeats the purpose to stay inside the park... Only the restaurant and the cleanliness is up to the mark for the price. Much better and cheaper options to be find within walkable distance of the park !

We stayed 2 nights with family on 09 and 10th November 22. Maintenance of the property is very poor though rooms are spacious as govt property. Door locks are not properly working, hot water is not available most of time, food prices are high, staff are not properly trained. Moreover, everytime you have to pay entry fees for car whenever you enter from outside.

It's a wonderful place to stay. Midst of jungle, you surely have visitors like deer in your back verandah. The thrill of stay comes full circle when suddenly in the evening, the jackals start calling. First one, then two, then more and then it becomes like an orchestra. Little frightening to hear the jackals cacophony initially as it's dark all around. But you are safe as the place has no such wild life like Tiger. Yes, a leopard is said to have creeped into the Bird sanctuary. It was sighted in Forest camera on 25 January. There are plenty of deer, wild rabbits etc for Leopard food.. Renovation of Forest lodge has started partly and online booking is off. We did an offiline booking with a call to the Manager, gem of a person. So we were able to experience a great time with two visits to the sanctuary. My review will be incomplete if I don't mention the excellent Lal Maas , the cook Lal Singh ( name correct ?) prepared for us. It was too quality dish from him. The Lodge after renovation will be worth staying if one wants to experience stay in the jungle.

We stayed here during Diwali 2022 and loved spending time at the Bharatpur forest lodge and bird sanctuary. The location is perfect for anyone who wants to stay in close proximity to nature. The rooms are clean and the staff is kind. The best part about staying here is the time-advantage you get compared to the other visitors coming to see the park. Also, around noon / lunch, it is super convenient to have your rooms at such a close distance for rest and recharge for afternoon exploration. The food is average but there are food options in the vicinity but outside of the park. In addition to this, more than often, you will see deer, nilgai, hornbills, hariyal and many many peacocks in the premises of the forest lodge. I think there cannot be any better place to stay if you want to make most of your time at the Keoladeo National Park.

Never ever stay in this place. PLEASE DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE THAT WE HAD DONE. 1. Room cost is 4000/night - only room,no breakfast!!!! no room service, sometimes there is no light. Unclean towels/bedsheets/pillows - if you complain,then they will say - "it is a govt hotel so you have to adjust" 2. Almost, nothing is available from the menu. As the lodge is "within the forest" - so you won't have any other option but to order from them. food is so bad - you may vomit or fall sick. If you complain - then again, same statement as above. 3. Plus, after providing the worst food- they will charge 18% gst on everything!!! The sheer audacity! 4. Stuff is unhelpful and agressive. We booked it as it is the only hotel - inside the Jungle - we thought it will be a nice ambience atleast - but that is also not true. WE REGRET EVERY MOMENT OF IT. POSTING THIS REVIEW TO SAVE OTHERS FROM THE SAME.

After reading the reviews I was thinking this was not going to be a good place to stay in. But I was pleasantly surprised. The food was fantastic, the cook is gifted, the staff is very courteous and though they are under-staffed they do not make you feel so... The rooms are big, cleaned every day. you have 24 hours hot water you have a heater in the room... The mattresses and blankets are clean and there are no bed bugs at all. Yes the furniture is old the paintings are not aesthetic... The TV is not a great one... The bed looks old. But you don't go to Bharatpur to watch TV and look at paintings on the wall. You go to watch the birds and when you come back you want to have a comfortable and pleasant place to relax in... Bharatpur forest lodge is very convenient as you are inside the sanctuary.. and I would strongly recommend it for any bird watcher. For those who want 5 star luxury there are many hotels all over India. why go to Bharatpur? Despite working on a tight budget the manager Mr Harilal is to be commended for keeping the forest lodge in an excellent condition and making you feel welcome.

We booked this hotel during our visit to Bharatpur bird sanctuary. Very decent hotel run by govt. Spacious room, beautiful location, neat and clean. Yummy food, tasty Tea n Coffee. Decent staff. Rooms with balcony. We had great time in this hotel. Sit in the balcony n watch peacocks, dear, birds. Book this Lodge if you want to enjoy the Centuary to the fullest.
