Baagirathi Teertha .Third one out of ashta teerthas at ganagapur on the bank of Bhima river. The Bath in this Teerth is as Holy as Bath in Manikarnika Kund at Kashi. It is because once a Shiva Bhakta Brahmin of Bharadwaj Gotra Pleased Lord Shiva with his Devotion and when Lord Shiva appeared he asked that he want to take bath in Manikarnika daily and have Darshan of the Lord.Lord Shiva granted and a Kund was emerged there and it joined the Bhima River here.
One of the most holy dips on the river bed, most unclean as the authorities have not done anything to improve it. The swamp is of course slippery and crocs infected place. Do not go alone, don t swim or don't take a risk of walking across the swamp. I only urge the authorities to take more interest in building a proper bath-ghat on the banks and maintain it properly. The autowaalas will take you near, but you can also walk, if you have some stamina.

This point where the water from a nearby Bhagirathi Kund meets Bhima River is described in Sri Guru Charitra as Bhagirathi Teerth. It is one of the Important Teerth among the Ashta Teerth. Sri Narsimha Saraswati Maharaj himself assured that a Bath here is equivalent to a Holy Bath at Manikarnika in Kashi (Varanasi).
