Bhadra Kali Guest House - Guest house in Varanasi - Varanasi, India

So I paid 3500Rs for a day and I paid Rs 14000 for my complete stay. I opted for a balcony and river view room : Highest paid room they have - they shared photos on asking (booking done 2 months back) but they never mentioned that " You CANNOT sit in the balcony or the open terrace" - Once I got there, they said you can sit but pls take care of the door (room/terrace) as there are a lot of monkeys here. Honestly, it's a menace with monkeys, it was like a jail where you just sit and can't go in your own balcony for what you have paid for. Cleanliness : Not that much And balcony was a mess because of the monkeys. So don't book the balcony room as it's of no use. Food: It's good they make fresh but if you order, it can take until 45mins-1hour in getting the food. It's not like a hotel like you order just anything and you get it plus in lesser time ! Food utensils: not like that we are paying 3500 for it No kettle in room Room is Raw Geyser facility is from outside and you have to tell them to switch it on No landline phone in the room so either you call them from your floor with a louder voice or go down or call them directly from phone but many times there is a signal problem Wi-Fi connectivity is weaker in many parts of the room, mostly nil and if you go over the terrace it's Nil On top of all this, you cannot get anything at night even if you require, for example: My Kim and I woke at 1AM and went for Mangal Aarti at Kashi Vishwanath Temple and we came back around 6.30AM and we were hungry but we could not order anything, not even tea !!! Because they have a cook who comes at 8am so ofcourse you cannot get anything before 8.30am and if it's breakfast, let him come, then tell them what you need and you will get it after an hour. Things you won't get with this room: luxury/ great view/ romantic/quiet/kid friendly/great value/high tech Rs 3500 for a day is like that you are getting amazing room with 5 star services and this is nothing even near to a 4 star or 5 star service room !! I have stayed in many many places in India in this room price and this was really not up to the mark. It's like a 2000 Rs room only with just a good location as it's near the Ghats !

Although it's a bit tricky to find the first time, this guest house is in a fantastic location close to the river with roof top views. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and nothing was any trouble for them. They do yummy food on site and can even make a decent Italian style coffee. I'd stay there again, very convenient.

AVOID THIS PLACE!!! We made a reservation via booking com, when we arrived host on the reception was drunk or on some drugs, totally not able to communicate. Then he said there is no room for us - I didn't expect extra quality from guest house in the oldest part of the city but generally it looks totally creepy!!! Don't know where good reviews come from...

The best part is location. It is near the Ghats. The room I took without AC was unbearable due to heat and humidity.

Worst experience ever... AC, TV not working. Water leakage in washroom. Dusty room.I paid Rs 3400.for rent. But worst experience ever. I booked the hotel by rating of 8.4 but it's not true. Don't book the hotel.

very beautiful location and rooms are clean and beautiful and food is also perfect.

1) attractions of this property are common terrace lawn where you can have a great look of river ganga and a terrace play area or the therrace grden. 2)if your looking to book a room with ar-conditioning then this property is good. other wise for non-ac room you would get a private toilet (without attached) and the ventilation of ac-toilet is through the nonac-toilet, somtimes other people are also using the same ones. 3) for non ac room you will get only a small lintel above window. 4) this property to reach temple and other ghats get tricky in august n september, as the water levels rise, we wnt be able to access the ghats road (short way)

The location, the welcoming of all staff, clean and tidy rooms, good options for the breakfast considering for the price! The staff went above and beyond our expectations. Thanks to all that work there and hopefully we will back one day to see you again.
