Bethania Resorts Athirappilly - Resort hotel in Athirapppilly, Ayyampuzha - Thrissur, India

We had a bad experience staying in this resort last week. There was no water supply in the bathroom, and management didnt even cared about this even after we complained. The plug points were not working. TV unit was not working, frequent power cuts during night. Worst room service. Food was below average and very expensive too. Not well maintained.. Only good thing is that property located on the riverside.

We just stayed for one night there and I don't think one can stay more than that. The resort location is good but it is not well- maintained. The standard AC room was also high priced. The food was great though. If they maintain the resort and cut the unwanted grass, it will look good.

Last Saturday we 4 members (myself, my wife, my friend and his wife) came to stay here based on the communication between their sales staff and at that time they sent us some photos of the very clean and tidy room and toilet.When we arrived at Bethania Resort they said they would give us a family suite which included a master bedroom and an extra bed in the hall. But they need 15 minutes for clean the room so we ask the manager Mr. Antony to see the room. Only then we will confirm the room. At the same time my friend asked for common toilet. Then he said that he can use the toilet in the opposite room.Terrible thing is , the bathroom is pathetically maintained, the room is below average, we enter the opposite room, my friend is there after urinating, antony said the opposite room is already confirmed to other guests,and ready to check in.but I saw the same situation in that room dust on the beds in the room too, so we feel very uncomfortable, better to go to some other resort so i informed mr.antony to we are leaving here because there is a huge difference in the photo and the reality.then his face gone rude and he needs 500 rupees for urinated i just wondered and asked him to discount .so he said this is not 'sathram'.Then we all negotiate with him but he behaved very badly to us including our lady members so I refuse to pay so he said he is going to increase the charge to 2000. Otherwise you can't leave here, so I suggested to my friend lets contact the policeThat time antony told us that he has a good relationship with the nearest police station and there is no effect on you and told me to pay 2000 rupees again, he went from office to call his police friends, we waited for him for an hour but he did not come back, then someone at the reception ask to pay 500 and solve the problem. and finally as it was late night we paid the amount and found other accommodation Don't get your updates This is not fair... ???

The only positive is about the close access to the river behind the resort apart from that I don't see any defined process of work right from the rooms , food and service are so so. Despite asking few basic amenities like water , soaps towels were not provided. The house keeping staff are very pathetic in service.

Resort is very good wonderful stay.... I will highly recommend the hotel for stay as well food.. very nice room well maintained rooms room service too good especially house keeping staff are very friendly nature ...

The Resort is full of Greenery , Joy and Happiness The staff if very helping in Nature The Management is also pretty good The location is Wonderful as it is just beside the river The food is also delicious and good in taste Loved Going to these Resort You must/have to try these Resort Once .....Thank You

We senior citizens travelled 8 hours and finally reached the hotel, to our surprise we were kept outside with all the luggage in the car, asking to wait for the accommodation for 45 minutes. As against to the reservation of rooms booked, the hotel person asked us to adjust in a double room with single toilet. When we asked to allot two seperate rooms, they gave one single room in upstairs after 1 hour of waiting outside not getting refreshments. The hotel person says that all' the workers are tired with huge passengers and are taking rest. When there is so much rush , they should have not accepted the booking at the first instance. We are supposed to leave early morning by 5 am only next morning. We felt very much disgusted with the hotel accommodation.

Giving an extra star for the location. The location is very good with a river view. But when we arrived we were given really dirty rooms which were supposedly "Deluxe Rooms" they were cleaning the beds by sprinkling phenyl to get rid of the smell. There was old food in the room with fungus on it.
