Our beloved Gurujis birthplace !!!The energy of this place was something else - lovely Yoga hall , fully equipped with all Gurujis props. Can accommodate 170-200 students at a time . Lovely open design and architecture . Excellent lodging and boarding facilities - all in house, great, freshly prepared vegetarian meals - with all staff every helpful and smiling. Great scenic views from the dining and adjoining areas. A must visit. Must also visit the Sage Patanjali & Lord Rama's temples....

This is an amazing place to study yoga. And, it is so much more. Our Guru, BKS Iyengar, had a vision for hie birth village, Bellur. It started with an elementary school in the village, built in the sixties and now managed by the government. Land has since been purchased and is in a Trust. Plans for water reclamation were completed. Organic farming and dairy are in the works. In addition to the yoga hall, the compound has a high school, a college, and a hospital. Educational costs are covered by the trust. Medical treatment is free of charge. All of this was as Guruji wished it to be. His students help sustain his dream by teaching and studying in Bellur. The campus is remote and surrounded by nature. Meals are lovingly provided twice per day. No distractions to the study of yoga need occur.

That's was exciting pleasant place for yoga followed by a famous Guruji Shri B.K.S. iyengar for his great contribution towards yoga over there. Even many foreigners often regularly visit over there for every year for performance. At last, there is a great environment and people to look after the needs of the foreigners over there.
