Overall, Bear Shola Falls is a beautiful waterfall that is worth visiting. If you are planning a trip to Kodaikanal, be sure to add Bear Shola Falls to your itinerary. The falls themselves are not very large, but they are very beautiful. The water cascades down a rocky cliff, and the surrounding forest is lush and green. The best time to visit Bear Shola Falls is during the monsoon season, from September to December. However, the falls are also beautiful during the other seasons.
Kodaikanal, a popular tourist spots is one of the best places to spend few relaxed days of your lives. The hill station has varied kinds of options to keep its tourist engaged. One of the best examples of the same is Bear Shola Falls. Located at a distance of 2 km from the Kodaikanal Lake, the falls are 3 kilometers away from the bus-stand. Located in the Reserve forest, Bear Shola Falls is a perfect picnic spot offering a setting to just relax with your loved ones amidst lush greenery. The Bear Shola Falls derived its name from the fact that bears used to come to this fall for drinking water. The best time to visit the falls is during the rainy season when the water level is at its fullest and thus most beautiful. During non-monsoon season, there is not much water in the falls. If interested, one can also go for trekking here. It has a beautiful climbing path which is almost 1 km long inside the forest. Along with Bear Shola Falls, there are many other waterfalls as well in Kodaikanal such as Thalaiyar falls, Pambar Falls which is also called as "Grand cascade" and Silver cascade. Unfortunately this falls is closed for public view now due to some security reasons adopted by forest department.
Beautiful falls. Closed but can walk through lush green forest to reach the falls. Beware of wild animals / insects though.
Went for a morning walk to enjoy the falls, but can go only upto the tarred road to see a closed gate 350 meters from the falls from where the forest trail starts !!!
This waterfall is officially closed by the forest department. The water has also stopped, maybe because the stream has changed its direction. The roads leading to the waterfall have been completely covered by mud, bushes and wild grass and also obstructed by wooden logs. I would recommend not to go as it has lost its beauty.
Located at a mere distance of 2 kilometres from the Kodaikanal Lake, the Bear Shola Falls is a popular tourist spot in the region. This cascade is a seasonal attraction which comes to life in its fullest during the monsoons, when the water flows down from the hilltop making its way through the verdant greenery of the region. An interesting legend behind the unique name of this place is that it was a favourite haunt of a bear who used to frequent this water body to drink water, hence imparting it the name Bear Shola Falls. The quiet and peaceful atmosphere of this destination is a true haven for those who want to escape from concrete forest parks. A visit to this area will bring one up close and personal with many common and rare species of animals and plants.
This Place was Closed, when Arrived in the evening.-(5.30pm) Unfortunately You just have a direction on the road, but there is no signages, no board no information on closure, whether it's temporary or permanent, but still, information's is not available, So we can safely consider to avoid this from our Itinerary unfortunately, Even driving to the nearest parking is difficult, also the lane is too short even to take an U-Turn. So my advice, please park the car at lest 500-750 Meters prior, near the junction, will be able to take a calculated turn later cannot suggest much about the experience though!
Bear Shola falls is around 2-3 kilometers from the Kodaikanal lake and is pretty good. It is very less crowded as not many travel agency take people to this fall. Although the water flow in the falls is very low but to reach the falls we have to walk around 500 meters which is really a good experience. There are two falls one at the front side and one at the back side, the front side of the falls is not good as it has very low water flow level whereas the falls beside it is much better but the height is low. There is no entry charge for the falls. Overall a good water fall to visit with lot of greenery with it & a peaceful place. I have shared some of the pics taken that is captured on the way to falls (while walking)
The beauty of Kodai can be seen from the view point. Amazing place and a great driving experience. You can see the village from the top of the hills as well as the temple located there. This is part of the village tour package. If you like the review
Good walk to check out the scenic views. Once you start it might be crowded at the entrance, go directly to the middle (around 400m), for some breathtaking views. Lots of vendors selling fruits and other eateries.
Very nice place to visit as you will get to enjoy waterfall and there is no risk as all, a very safe secure place, but still be carefully on the slippery stones, you might fall there. The sound of water falling through various cliff levels is quite
This waterfall has its own scenic beauty. There are a number of small shops near this waterfall, where they sell noodles, snack items, bread omelette, etc.. The parking will be a challenge if visiting during the season.
The view is good though it wad very foggy and we didn't get to enjoy it as much as we thought we would. Interestingly, the site was once named Suicide Point which gave it a grim history. It's literally a 15 feet long 4 feet high wall with solid jaill
The view from here of the kodaikanal lake is mesmerising. When we visited there little bit rain falling so there not many people there so we get the clear view and it's a really good place to see kodaikanal lake.
This Waterfalls is so beautiful, but be careful while walking into waterfalls because it's slippery. You may fall down and that is dangerous. If you want to buy the chocolates from the factory near to this place make sure you don't fool with the pric

Great place to stay, was with my family for my father's birthday. Wonderful hospitality by the owners and staff. Clean large bedrooms and view from the garden is a must. Glad we booked this stay as it was very close to the town yet secluded. Must try
I had the pleasure of indulging in some truly delicious hot chocolate, which I savored from a beautiful handmade ceramic teacup. The combination of the hot, rich cocoa and the smooth texture of the ceramic cup made for a truly delightful experience.
This is the place to be if you want to feel revitalised. Not only me; my entire family visited the spa. It's a truly wonderful experience. They are incredibly cordial. Everyone who received a massage felt the same way, which is incredibly relaxing. N
