Bawarchi Restaurant Behala - Restaurant in Kolkata - Kolkata, India

The restaurant is located on James Long Sarani. It is a very small joint with only about a sitting capacity of maybe 12-15 people. The place is really suffocating but the food was really good. We ordered Chicken Tikka Kebab - They served 6 pieces of succulent and juicy chicken kebabs. The spices added a good amount of taste to the dish. I loved it. Mutton Biryani - The rice quantity as well as the mutton portion was commendable. The taste was really good. The thing that I liked was that they used very little oil. Chicken Tikka Masala - The chicken was well cooked. The gravy was really tasty. Naan - This was by far the best Naan I have had ever. It was really really soft. The best I must say. Nawabi Paneer - This also tasted really good the gravy was a bit sweet. I liked it. Overall the experience was good. The only thing that bjthered me was the space. The washroom door was just literally just a few feet from the table.

I ordered Chicken Tandoori half plate and special mutton biryani, the tandoori chicken was very good. The biryani rice was also good. But the chicken kabab over biryani was very small in size. Rest was good. The service is fast. The ambience is nice. You can also celebrate your birthday or other events. The sitting area is very small. Payment by UPI is also available. Overall my experience is 4/5.

I hope that food quality is good enough, as I had only tried Egg Roll & Egg Chicken Roll. And I believe that pricing is reasonable enough. But one important thing I want to say that, there is lack of hospitality in there staff. I believe, they need to improve customer relationship. As the restaurant is located in roadside of Jemslong Sarani (Behala Manton), so it's easy to find the restaurant and easy to find place to park your car/bike.

Bawarchi is located in Behala James long serving great variety of delicious dishes. I recently visited the place and the items I had were - *Starters* 1) Lemon chicken soup - It was thick with sufficient pieces of shredded chicken. It was tasty, healthy and flavorful. 2) Golden fried prawn with onion rings - A highly recommended item. There were eight pieces. They were big in size and very crispy and tasty. It highly satisfied my taste bud. 3) Crispy chilli American corn - This unique veg item is a must try. In this item crispy corn niblets were tossed with dry tangy sauce. It was very flavorful and tasty. 4) Kebab platter - In kebab platter each kebab was soft, juicy and flavorful. *Specials of Bawarchi* 1) Murgh Musalam Biryani - This item was best of all and very highly recommended. In this item grilled whole chicken was stuffed with steam rice and boiled egg. It was then tossed by tomato base red gravy. It tasted just fantastic. 2) Bawarchi special 18 inch roll - It is big size roll. The paratha was crispy and well stuffed with pieces of chicken and paneer. *Indian Dishes* 1) Kashmiri naan with chicken butter masala - The bread was soft and sweet. It went great with chicken butter masala. The chicken pieces in it was big in size. They were tender and tasted fabulous. Highly recommended. 2) Lahori paneer- This item too tasted good with big chunks of paneer in it. 3) Chello kabab - This is another signature dish of Bawarchi with 3 pieces of Murgh Shashlik , chicken seekh kebab and Butter rice with an egg poach on top. The whole dish tasted great. *Chinese* 1) Bawarchi special fried rice with hog garlic fish - In this item the rice was tossed with Babycorn , mushrooms, red peppers, exotic vegetables and prawn. It went fantastic with hot garlic fish. The pieces were fresh and big in size. The dish tasted fantastic and highly recommended. Lastly we had Blue Lagoon. The drink was very refreshing with perfect blend of sweetness in it. The ambience was very pretty with beautiful dim lights and wall paintings. The soft music in the background added to the mood. Thus had a great time there and highly recommended.

Ordered a couple of Egg Chicken Rolls from the takeaway. It was my first time and will be the last time for sure. Horrible experience....the rolls had hardly any chicken in it plus it tasted bland and lacked any flavour. The behaviour of the chubby guy sitting at the counter was pathetic as well. My worst experience in quite a while. Please stay away.

Ordered chicken fried rice, chicken garlic, pan fried chicken. Food had worse taste, salt was on the higher side, quantity could have been more compared to price. Also I want to mention their washroom is the dirtiest you can find in entire behala restaurant chain. And the restaurant is not spacious, felt cramped. IMO save your money and go somewhere else, you will thank me later.

Food quality was not that remarkable.We ordered garlic chicken, mixed fried rice and chicken-egg biriyani. Mixed rice quantity was ok quality could have been better. Garlic chicken tasted like sweet and sour chicken. Biriyani was kinda blunt.
