Bathu Temple or popularly known as "Bathu ki Ladi ". Ladi means a chain as the temples are placed in a chain format, is situated in Kangra District within the Pong Dam. It is reachable via Dhameta, Jawali and other neighbouring areas. The visiting months are from April to June. The temples are undoubtedly a marvel of fine architecture as it is believed they have been made during the time of Pandavas ! The staircase that is believed to lead one to heaven still exists, though some of it has been damaged. They are made of a particular stone called "Bathu" which has left the temple in almost perfect condition even after being submerged in the dam for 8 months every year. Mini boats can be taken to reach the temple if you spot some water at your visit. The temples are a beauty and are in pristine condition. Some are a bit damaged but the whole experience of visiting covers it all. You would also find a stall or two selling lemon soda and icecreams as it gets quite hot and sometimes the warm wind "loo" blows. It is definitely a must visit, if you're visiting Himachal during April to June. It's situated a bit far from main stations of Dhameta and Jawali but they are undoubtedly a must visit historical marvel.
Very big Maharanapratap Sagar Lake ..good boating experience in local boat. Scenic spot. Temples inside lake and many birds around.Good to spend 2 hours in the evening.Very good road from Jawal. March or October, November
Such a interesting place to visit with friends and family Make sure whenever you plane a trip to this histroical place check out wheather and water level
Near my hometown and love this place Bathu Temples hold a fascinating history, as it is believed that they were constructed by The Pandavas in ancient times. Legends suggest that they even attempted to build a staircase to heaven here, but their efforts were not successful. The uniqueness of these temples lies in their accessibility, as they can only be reached from May to June when the water level decreases. However, it is disheartening to see that some visitors, who do not value the sanctity of the place, are leaving it dirty. Let us all cherish and preserve the beauty of this historical site for generations to come. Additionally, while boating is available, it is concerning that life jackets are not provided, which poses a safety risk for visitors.
Do visit to experience the beauty of this place. It's accessible only 2-3 months in a year. Take umbrella or any other type of stuff to protect urself from heat. It will be too hot in the sun. Mobile phones behave strange. Ghost like feelings. Doesn't work properly. No joke
Place is osm ..........but be careful from water don't try to swim.....people do things drinking alcohol is not good area plse avoid
Nice place for tourism If you want to see the temple, then visit this place at December to May
One of the hidden gem of India. This temple comes out of water during summer.
