Bastian Home Stay - Home Stay in Kochi - Ernakulam, India

Bastion Homestay is within easy walking distance of FC centre and all the tourist sights. The room was super comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were delicious. Bastion and Gingi both went out of their way to help us organize trips and taxis. We had a great stay and were sorry to leave.

I stayed in Bastian for a week with my partner Positives: the hosts are REALLY REALLY NICE, they are very welcoming (we watched some cricket with them and they treated us to some homemade cookies ). it is in a good location in Fort Kochi. Good value for money! Neutral: you can order tasty breakfast but it is quite expensive compared with other places. the owners have a lot of activities and trips they can help you organise including day trip to Alleppey and Munnar but be aware that these are expensive, especially the Munnar one but the drivers and tour guides were great Negatives: A LOT OF MOSQUITOS (we have done weeks of traveling in SE Asia and India and fort Kochi was the most mosquito infested place we have visited; apparently it's because of the canals; this is not the owners fault but you should still be aware), the rooms were basic and you had to pay extra for AC (for the first few days we decided to go with just a fan but it was very unpleasant hot and damp), fort Kochi is actually a bit far from the rest of Kochi and its public transport system In short, this is a good option for those who would like to stay for a few days, need some help organising local activities and are not too bothered by mosquitos.

Sejour parfait, dans un hostel familial (presque un hotel puisque uniquement des chambres privees : propres, agreables, petits balcons) avec un couple d'hotes absolument adorables, devoues, accessibles, genereux (ils m'ont beaucoup aide pour des problemes de billets de train que je ne pouvais pas prendre car n'ayant pas de carte bleue indienne). L'hostel est situe dans une petite ruelle au calme, mais en meme temps proche de tout. Bon rapport qualite prix. Bon petit dejeuner continental ou local au choix Je recommande sans hesiter !!!

I had a fantastic stay at Bastian Home Stay! The highlight of my stay was the hospitality of the hosts. They were very helpful, and did everything they could to make your stay great. Location was great - very close to all the attractions in Fort Kochi. The rooms themselves were good and pretty clean. It's no luxury hotel, but for a homestay I'd say it's on the cleaner side (for Indian standards). There were mosquitos, so you should really turn on the ceiling fan for sleeping unless you're used to the bites. I booked the backwaters tour and Kathakali dance with them, and both of those were amazing and well worth the money. They charged standard prices for the tour and the dance (exact same price as advertised in all the other shops). Breakfast costed extra, but it's pretty plain so I wouldn't have high expectations for that.

Bastien homestay is brilliant, one of the best hostels we have stayed in. Bastien himself is very helpful and seems to have pretty much everything covered. The rooms are perfect, nice big comfy beds, we paid extra for air conditioning but the rooms also have good quiet fans. The best bathroom so far in India and absolutely spotlessly clean. The breakfast here is fabulous, the egg curry is probably my favourite curry ever. Very sociable, breakfast is served with everyone else staying here. Location is perfect, it's in a central position for pretty much everything. There is a lot to do in Kochi, we only had 3 days, we will most definitely return for a longer stay next time.

We had booked this homestay for our trip to fort kochi...it's a very nice and cozy homestay...the owners are very helpful. It's actually a home away from home. The room was clean and comfortable. The ambience of the property is also very pretty. A special thanks to aunty for the lovely breakfast. We still can't get over that taste. Also a big thank you to uncle for personally helping us get to the bus stand and guiding us for our next destination. Thank you Bastian homestay

We had a great time at Bastian's place. Very nice and helpful owners. They can arrange you almost everything that you need. Our room was comfortable and clean. One thing that was missing was just a simple table to put your stuff on. Very good location. We recommend.
