I loved this place. The meals were so scrumptious along with the condiments such as shenga chutney and jhunka. The holige topped with dollops of ghee(thukpa) was so fulfilling after a heavy jolada rotti meal. The ambience and service were awesome. I would recommend this place to anyone craving for a good North Karnataka meal for lunch or dinner.

Basaveshwar Khanavali is a North Karnataka Meal restaurant located in Jayanagar. Go for the seats near the windows as you can see the world go by. There are both ac hall and a normal hall to sit. AC hall has sofa seating whereas normal hall has wooden table/chairs. They serve North Karnataka Meals which comes with a sprout salad, pachadi, sprout curry, coconut chutney, brinjal curry, jowar roti, holige, a snack, rice, sambar, rasam, paan, chutney among others. The meal is worth a try. The holige was superb. The brinjal curry was so so. Go for it.

I'm writing this review after 3 visits to this restaurant. First and second visits were mind blowing. I really enjoyed the food and service. My last night's visit left me with utter disappointment. The only thing that these guys should always serve is the best ennegayi, yesterday it was bitter. They are pushing another gravy instead called thumbgayi (stuffed capsicum) which was spicy and did not taste great. The puran poli is as thick as my duvet and couldn't eat. The quality and taste has come down by big margins.

Tasty North Karnataka style jolada roti meals are served in this restaurant. This is the second restaurant of the same chain that I have visited. Taste and quality are consistent, but this restaurant is not fully air-conditioned. We were seated just as we arrived and food was served without delay. Looks like there can be a wait during peak hours. They were offering certain add on dishes to the meals. We chose mirchi bhaji to go with the lunch. Price is reasonable, maintains quality standard across their restaurants. The restaurant maintains good standards of hygiene. Worth a visit to enjoy the jolada roti meals.

Authentic North Karnataka Roti meal. Rotis are soft and hot and served with butter. All Bajis tastes amazing. Staffs were very helpful. Served with smile on their face. Major thing I noticed is that they served all food unlimited time. For two people bill 560. It was worth it.

The food was good. Even though I had booked the table for four in advance, we were made to wait for quite some time as it was during the weekend. Service took a very long time. It's not value for money.

Hotel is good . But taste not worth the price they charge . You will like it if you are new to this place or trying for first time . But if you know the actual taste as in all Basaveshwaranagar area hotels ... you will realise masala is far less and different than original authentic taste .
