Great stay with friendly and obliging hosts. A real oasis in the old part of town. The water pressure is almost nonexistent as it's an old building so showering is a bit of an exercise - be aware of that. Really though all the good hotels are nowhere near this area and the location and welcome (and breakfast) are great.

It's a heritage property with good connectivity and located close to the brahmaputra river. Even though the rooms are old and outdated and the bathrooms too small, the service makes up for it. The staffs are well mannered and very accomodating. Especially Rajeev, the person was extremely helpful and always available incase we had any requests. He even took care of booking cab and talking to the driver as it was our first time in the city.

It's near to Panbazar which is a business hub for mekhala chadar. Me and one of my female friend travelled for business purpose only. So we booked this property after checking all reviews. But got very disappointed. everything written in other's review were not matching with the reality at all. Worst experience so far. Rooms were smelly. Carpets were very dirty. Curtains and BEDSHEETS were smelly too. It's not clean at all. No parking space. And at around 11.30pm out side guest we're drinking in drawing room which was a common place for all guest. We booked this hotel through MakeMyTrip so we paid the full amount for two days but due to this unhygienic condition of the rooms we simply left the hotel. I will surely not recommend this hotel for any one

An old villa which has been renovated beautifully. A mix of the old and new. Lovely old furniture. Big rooms with attached bath. Old world charm for sure. Simple breakfast prepared by the staff. Location is excellent with many eateries within walking distance. Very close to the riverfront area too. Pick this over any hotel for sure.

I had a remarkable stay at Baruah Bhavan Guest House this past December. The staff (specifically Hari) truly go above and beyond in making the experience memorable. Additionally, they helped me with taxis and other translations throughout my time in Assam. For that, I'm extremely grateful. The food is fantastic. I highly recommend staying here, however, after having traveled more in India, I realize now the accommodation is not competitively priced. If it were lower, it might be the perfect accommodation.

Located very close to city centre and has a rich history. Had a decent stay for 2 nights. Would be better if they redid the upholstery, worn out bedding and carpets... This should avoid the damp smell in the rooms

This place is excellent if you want to relax in the old world charm. From the architecture to the service, both ends of the hospitality spectrum will take to back in time. The rooms are themed and the staff are courteous yet invisible for your privacy. We stayed for 3 nights and the experience was great .

Staff made the stay a memorable experience. We stayed for two nights and it was a memorable one. The room are better than in the pictures and each has a theme. Common areas are neatly done and good to hangout. The staff is very courteous and helpful. The mosque besides with the prayer in the loud speaker is not an issue for the deep sleepers. The pressure in the taps is very low. But if you can take a shower the India way with a bucket and mug, again no worries. Over all a really nice place. Will definitely recommend.
