Banastarim is situated at about 16 kms from Panjim and 12 kms from Ponda in Goa. It has a government school and a sports club. There are three temples in the area as the village shares a large hindu population. However the village is mainly known for its market which starts filling from Thursday evening and get full by Friday morning every week.
The bridge is not maintained properly, the road has potholes and bumps , so please drive carefully , 30 is the max speed well they mean it BCS of the condition of the road
The only way to cross the river is the bridge, no other means available. The bridge is old and maintained that good. Also the bridge is narrow. Though the view from the bridge makes you forget everything. The sunset and the small fisherman's boat passing by can make your day.

The bridge is maintained by pwd ND d pipeline by pwd water division. Bridge is good with beautiful nature on both side with backwaters of d river. The police does wonderful job. Not only today they have always been there at d end point towards Ponda for misuse of traffic law. I feel it is very much required to prevent accidents. I love d police d way they r doing. Not only there. They are at kundiam also. I salute our police.

One can say that this bridge forms link between North Goa and South Goa . Road is not that good but nature view seen is beautiful. It's new bridge, older one was once present exactly parallel to the present one. Importantly All types of vehicles are allowed on the bride.
