Restaurant that serves tasty food at very best price in Pondicherry. Taste is value for money for specially Telangana People. Only thing is quantity is low and communication problem waiters. Fried Rice, Noodles and Staters will be made in Hyderabadi style on request.

Date of visit - 1st Sept 2023, around 10pm Purpose - Dinner I would love to give it a 5 start because of the food taste, it was delicious and worth mentioning. We ordered Kutthu paratha, chicken masala, prawn masala and chicken lollipop. Price is reasonable and food was excellent in terms of quality and quantity. Well it is a dim place and cozy, not recommended for good pictures. Please note to reach before 10pm as this place closes by 11pm.

We visited Banana Leaf barbecue restaurant in April 2023 for dinner. The place was almost full but we managed to get a seat. We checked the menu and asked for a biriyani to be informed it's not available. Soups also weren't available and the list continued. We just ordered Shawarma and some juices. In a few minutes we noticed biriyani being served to another table. Might be the case that it was the last one but still was disappointing. The shawarmas were served quickly and were good, but the watermelon juice took forever. We had finished our meal and waited for around 10 more minutes for the juice. The bill took even more time. Overall the food was okay, but the service and options of food is very disheartening. The washrooms and handwash areas were clean and well kept. The prices are reasonable.

Damnn!! The place was full. May be cause it was a Sunday or cause of a huge family showing up unannounced, but, really the place was completely full and people were waiting in the path way and near the tables for them to get vacant. They literally stood around us and were continuously talking loudly disturbing our conversations. Towards the end, they came and sat at my table with me still sitting there Very bad management of people flow. They could have atleast made people wait at the entrance before finding a vacant table. Ordered a Chicken Fried Rice, Pepper Chicken and a Tandoori Chicken Biryani. Pepper chicken with mayonnaise was heavenly. Biryani and Fried rice were a bit bland and ok. Also, there was no cutlery until asked for. Strange! Staff was over occupied cause of the crowd so, wouldn't call them out for late service. Overall: Wouldn't visit this place given the choice and reduced the stars due to bad management of people flow.

Food is awesome here specially Biryani.. must try place

I ordered a kothu parota here in Zomato I got only 1 half pack of curry ... how am I supposed to eat it with 1 half pack of curry... don't know the fool who packed it had brain . . . Spoiled a occasion... too bad

I went to Banana Leaf Barbecue Restaurant in Pondicherry for lunch. The restaurant didn't have a nice atmosphere, and the service was really slow. The waiter seemed overwhelmed with orders, and we had to wait a long time to place ours. It was quite crowded, and the restroom wasn't clean. The restaurant didn't look as nice as it did in the photos. As for the food, we tried chicken biryani, Hyderabadi biryani, chicken 65 noodles, and chicken 65. The biryanis were similar, with the Hyderabadi one being a bit spicier. The noodles were okay, and the chicken 65 was good.

The food was delicious, a wonderful tour of local specialities with excellent presentation. Each course was well balanced, great textures and flavours. We particularly enjoyed the atmosphere, which was more informal than expected. Christophe came to the table to take our order himself. He has a really lovely character and made us felt at ease and respected. This is reflected in his staff as well, who are incredibly professional and clearly take pride in their work while remaining very A fantastic experience, and highly recommended!
