Awesome place to visit.. Better to visit in the morning or evening. Important: Take enough water while going to the fort... At least 3 litres per person.....

Good view of the city from the fort which is on a hilltop. Built in 16 th century this fort with 5.6 kms long walls offers a good hiking trail in Ballari , entry fees 25Rs, no guides available and no information about various sites in this fort available except for a board showing the history of the fort

The place has only less visitor and feels haunted. A must visit as we can understand the statergy made by the king's who ruled here. The whole city can be viewed from over here. There is a lower fort also which is non functional. Early mornings and evenings are the best time to visit the place.

Beautiful fort but not maintained great by the government. The view from top is beautiful and the path is quite tiring for people who don't exercise but not too much. Must visit while in and around Ballari.

Fort is great and a beautiful view during sunrise. Unfortunately, people have treated the place poorly leaving trash everywhere.

Historical place Devi Nagar Karnataka Bellary Fort ("Bellary Kote") was built on top of a hill called the "Ballari Gudda" or the Fort Hill. It is situated in the historic city of Bellary, in the Bellary District in Karnataka state, India. It was built in two parts namely, the Upper Fort and the Lower Fort. The Upper Fort was built by Hanumappa Nayaka, a feudatory of Vijayanagar Empir but the Lower Fort was built by Hyder Ali in later part of the 18th century.

A must visit place if you cross or go to Ballari. Forts are always a sign of culture and ancient living. Will make the place better if they have written boards placed everywhere describing the details of why when & purpose for building it, importance of the fort and what took place there. Will help and be easy for everyone to know the history of that place.

Beautiful place to visit. Very large and height too. One must take water bottle with him/her as there is no drinking water is available inside. On the top of the hill one stream with water is present. Water table is at such a high level?? Security person told underground tunnels were present earlier but now closed. Ballari city looks beautiful from the top of the Fort.
