Ballard Bungalow - Hotel in Kochi - Ernakulam, India

This place can be termed as a Heritage Stay. The property was a 300-year-old Dutch warehouse, that was converted into a hotel. Large spacious rooms with period furniture in all rooms. The location is bang opposite Aspinwall Hall and close to all the major tourist attractions. Markose, the Manager, is a very helpful guy and handy. The food served is good (but there are lot of options around, if you fancy).

It was one of the most pathetic experience of hospitality. We had booked one suite 2 months prior to the visit. On the day of arrival, they intially made us wait 2 hours more than the check in time and then finally told us that the room we have booked is not available. Mind if we had already paid for the room Having said that, Markus did not have the audacity to feel bad about it and asked us to take up a random dingy room for one night because he could not tell the guest who had already occupied our room a no. I recommend to everybody never to book this hotel and please the owner of the hotel should look into management matters

It was a second stay at this hotel, this time at the apartment downstairs. The place is well maintained, has a nice heritage building touch and is perfectly located. The staff is helpful and friendly and breakfast tasty. I definitely recommend it.

We are 4 of us friends who stayed in two separate rooms. We stayed for 3 nights. I like to thank the marc manager of Ballard Bungalow for the services he provided. Great hospitality. Clean and spacious room. The food choices and taste awesome. Will visit again this hotel. Once again thanks for the pleasant stay.

Excellent accueil dans ce magnifique hotel vintage colonial. Markus est attentionne, sensible et profond, beaucoup plus qu'un gerant d'hotel. Chambres spacieuses propres et confortables, cachet certain, emplacement ideal a 2 pas d'Aspinwall , des ferries et du coeur battant de Fort Kochi.

Located in the prime locality of Fort Kochi, this place is a heritage bungalow well preserved and maintained. Rooms are huge with heritage furnishings. Mr. Markus is a nice host and took good care of everything. This place is right next to the ferry point and opposite to Aspin hall where the Kochi Muzuris Biennale 2022 happened. It's an ideal budget place which is in a walkable distance from all key attractions of fort Kochi

the building is a real heritage property built in 1706 by the dutch. the teak wood panelled flooring is a highlight.the rooms were really spacious. the caretaker, mr. markose was a great host. the bungalow is located in a prime film shooting location. if you're lucky, you might even have a peek at some superstars.

Travelling across multiple cities, we had only 30dec to 1st jan free for kochi, a logistical nightmare it became. Had booked at only available place, casa Linda... but Marcos had a last minute cancellation & we stayed at ballards, a lovely Dutch heritage bungalow. Loved the room 2244 & the old world charm of high ceilings & furniture. Mosquitoes are a big problem in fort kochi, advise to carry tons of citronella oil or Odomos & all out. Marcos was very helpful host, enjoyed home made breakfast & company of other visitors. Best part was it's opposite the Aspin wall, main venue of the kochi biennale. So it was easy to hop over for a short rest 3-4 in the afternoon before going back to the KBF. Would recommend!
