Sri balamurugan temple at Porur,is very famous temple in surrounding public. Recently KANTHA SHASTI(knt csstti) celebrated on 13th Nov.2023 to 18th November 2023. During these days every day morning and evening " LAKSHA ARCHANAI" (lkttcaarcnnnai) was done. Except grant festival days, there is no crowd. Peaceful and divine temple. From Porur junction it is walkable distance and near by only.
Atmosphere is not well. So many people are use like a urinals in the temple wall. Always bad smell distrubing my mood. Other wise interiors maintain very well and also nice iyyars are very friendly in manner.
aangkilttil elllutuvtrrku mnnnnnnikkvum. We wanted to visit vadapalani murugan temple, and we did go on 8th morning, but it was literally unbelivable, the que was standing all the way upto arcot road. So we came back and in the evening we decided to visit this murugan temple in porur. Have passed a few times along this road, infact we even visited the ramanadheeswarar temple which is just a stone's throw away from this temple, but we havent gone inside so far. It was an auspicious day, hence there was lot of crowd in the temple and also the loud speakers were blarring at full volume. Looking at the setup and construction etc, we thought this was a private temple, but then we saw the board which says that this temple comes under the HR&CE Board. Lord muruga faces east, Rajagopuram faces east, temple faces east, kodimaram present. The crowd was very high hence neither could i look around or could have a peaceful darshan, but still i notice a unique thing which is lord murugan is in sitting posture, not sure he is sitting on the peacock, but he is in a sitting posture with his right leg folded. majority of the places you can see lord murugan standing either alone or with valli and deivaani. also the statue was compact. temple in a very crowded area, closer to the porur junction, and literally there is no parking space for even the two wheelers. worth a visit if you are in this area.
One of the hidden gem in the city limit(Suburb) Very near to the famous Ramanatheswarar temple. Parking will be a hassle, as it's located in the congested residential area.
Spacious temple in busy porur and they maintained the temple very clean and tidy. Good place to do Meditation for all age holders. Good place for childrens also.
A Lesser Known Temple Located Near To the Busy Porur Junction But is Calm Inside and Less Crowded as Well on Usual Days, Eventhough it's A Small Temple Regular Maintenance is Being Done. A lot of Shops Located Very Nearby to The Temple. Visit it on An Evening For Half Hour Break From The Usual Life!
Good temple situated in the heart of the city, this temple is a less know Temples of chennai. The history of this Temple starts from the head master of this temple. One day lord Murugan came in his dream and asked him to build a temple for him. As per the wish of lord Murugan, he built a temple here. The maintenance of this temple is good located next to the Porur junction. The temple Is approximately 80 years old. There is an another beautiful temple in next street called Ramanadeeshwarar koil
