A true definition of keep it simple yet beautiful! So nicely maintained, extremely good food, river flows through the property. There is no mobile network and the way they helped us visit some of the nearby places by writing handmaps(which is so useful and you will thank them for this later!) shows how courteous they were. They come personally talk to each one of the guests and seek feedback. They are not on any booking sites yet and you should all try once before it gets crowded.
It is located in the midst of a forest, with a score of tourist places within 70km radius of the resort. A river flows through the property, where you can swim and splash around - it is safe. You can walk around the property for calmness and serenity. They have a swing, Aquarium and camp fire too. Only vegetarian food is served but it's so delicious that you won't crave for restaurant food. The owner and caretakers are polite, humble, helpful and caring. Worth every penny
Nice greenery. Stayed in the month of April. Good room. Nice estate view. There is a nearby river flow at 200 meters, has a nice forest view. Hospitality is good, nice vegetarian authentic food. They have many room options based on family members.
I have been regular visitor and guest for this homestay.. really well maintained and good services . Peaceful location.. you can spend days. But one suggestion is Campfire shed is not good.. it looks artificial not natural.. better consider the request and make it open campfire ..

I always prefer a traditional modest Homestay run by localite more than a posh luxury resort in malnad. So Bakula was perfect for us. Situated far away from the hustle bustle of the city, totally isolated and quiet. Other than the noise of the cicadas you don't hear anything else. The areca plantations are a true treat to walk through early in the morning. They have a small stream in the backyard where they have tied ropes and I thoroughly enjoyed taking bath there. There are two cute dogs that demand you love them very much Mr. Hegde and Sudarshan are wonderful hosts. From entry till exit they were checking on us on all aspects, don't miss their sight seeing suggestions and maps. Those maps are valuable as you will invariably lose GPS signal The appe saaru they served for dinner was unimaginably tasty. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to unwind in UK. The rates are so affordable and pocket friendly. One small suggestion would be the food can include more authentic uttara kannada cuisine (patrode, todadevu, tambuli, kotte kadbu, rave rotti, karakali),.... Appe Saar was the only thing we had.
This place is beautiful and peaceful place to stay in between the greenery and enjoy the river. The location is very beautiful. quality food, tasty, fresh and Rooms are clean. Staff was extremely friendly. Happy to have visited this place and will definitely visit again.
