Location: Inside Deer Park, Delhi Tucked away in the bustling city of Delhi, Bagh-I-Alam Ka Gumbad stands as a testament to the rich architectural heritage of the region. This hidden gem, often overshadowed by more prominent historical sites, offers a serene and captivating experience for those who appreciate the beauty of ancient craftsmanship. Grass grows from its shattered stone slabs. Squirrels scale the arched niches. Pigeons sit atop the battlements. The bird chatter becomes so loud at times that you believe there must be hundreds of them inside the monument, ready to uproot and lift the hefty thing up into the Delhi sky. But, of course, the Gumbad has endured the test of time. Its beauty, however, is not as dazzling as Humayun's Tomb. The monument, like a piece of slow-moving music, operates slowly on the senses. The seemingly ordinary stony exterior gradually reveals, for example, the handful of blue tiles that remain clinging to it. The inner compartment is shut. A few gravestones can be seen through a grill of cobwebbed metal bars lying in the musty gloom. The ceiling is covered in artistic patterns. The atmosphere is eerie. The lovely wall-mosque next to the ruin is even more cheerful. Its yard is a wasteland of fallen leaves and abandoned graves. This morning, the tombstones are drenched in a hazy golden sunlight, as if a mystical entity is attempting to reawaken the sleeping dead. The scene is a work of perfect magic realism.
Bagh-e-Alam ka Gumbad is situated inside the Hauz Khas Village in Delhi. As per the Persian inscription on a panel on the western wall, the tomb was built in 1501. It is believed that it belongs to a saint named Shihab-ud-din Taj Khan.
Possibly a Lodhi era tomb & mosque complex. This building is located within the Deer Park and is free to enter, just turn right after entering the park and you'll stumble across this beautiful building. Elements of its decorations still exist like the blue tiles and the well decorated roof. No data as to the two graves within the building but they must've been somewhat grand to have built such a big mausoleum.
Very old and ancient history place of the Indian history. #Must visit when possible. It's very vibe and relaxing place in centre of Delhi.
Beautiful place...... whether it is to spend some time in nature's lap or to chill out with your buddies or to just spend some 'alone time' with your significant other, this place is good for all. The historical buildings provide excellent views to click pictures worth sharing on social accounts. In addition to this there are lot of clubs and eateries located near to this location, where you can satisfy your hungry stomach and related cravings at not cheap but reasonable prices.
Bagh I Alam is located near to the Hauza Khas Lake and the Gumbad can be reached from the Deer Park, Delhi. It is one of the few Lodhi epoch tombs that have an amusing petition, with respect to the ambience. The structure of the Gumbad is prepared of confined stones, red sandstone and a mix of blue ceramic tiles. The stones and the tiles portrays it with a very dented petition, but the flourishing greens, the rambling natural gardens and the lawns surrounding it, with a multiplicity of birds flocking and deer wandering within a diminutive distance away gives a divine getaway.
Today o visited this place on my visit to Hauz Khas Village . These buildings having great architecture importance & rich history. Somewhere I felt these monuments should come in light & people explore this . Beautiful entry Gate with stone & carvings . Somewhere all those centuries monument having same style but if you study will find difference. Nice visiting this in the premises of Deer park .
A beautiful old tomb from the Lodhi era (circa 15th century). Although there's nothing much that remains of the painted plaster that must have once decorated the interior, the outside decoration still remains. (If you're approaching from near the Kali Gumti, walk around to the back of Bagh-e-Alam ka Gumbad, because that's where you can see the lovely blue tile work that decorates this. Right next door is a wall mosque, decorated with typical Lodhi-style niches with incised plaster.
