There is a decorated gate and few underground chambers amidst a lush green lawn. The entry fee of rupees 25 is thoroughly over-priced.
What we see at this Monument is just the Entry Gate of envisioned Badal Mahal by Mahmood Shah Khilji. It is one of the most unique architecture for a entry gate and completely made out of sandstone mined from nearby mountains. This Monument is around 500 years old. The landscaped entry courtyard outside the monument on the entry is very well maintained. ASI has done a good job maintaining and preserving this monument.
Badal Mahal served as the original entry to Chandri Fort in past. It is now a well maintained garden under ASI. Ticket need to be obtained through scan and pay system, hence some may find it inconvenient. The road to fort can't be seen as locals live there now (it leads straight to Khooni Darwaza). One hidden Bauli on the compund is an added attraction. You can take a walk around the guarded walls for a good feel of bygone days.
