Babu Hotel (Tiffin) - Vegetarian restaurant in Vijayapura Town - Bengaluru Rural, India

Amidst the dusty town of Vijayapura, this eatery will grab your attention right away as you'll see a huge crowd and a large flock of vehicles also parked improperly, blocking the road and other vehicles. Food was decent, the thatte idly and vade were good, the gatti chutney on the other hand could have been more spicy. The star of the show, Masala Dosa was a mix of both, the softer side and the crispy side as well, it went really well with the Gatti chutney. Rice bath, I had really high expectations, alas it was plain and bland, the vade saved it! If you ask me about visiting this place again, I'd visit only for the Masala Dose and the awesome peaceful drive from Bengaluru to Vijayapura.

A decent place to try out dosa and rice baath in the mornings. It's a small hotel amidst a very busy market. The hotel is super crowded with mostly local crowds either having breakfast or taking food parcels. We only had Masala dosa and Rice Baath. Dosa was crispy enough, but nothing great in taste. Same with Rice Baath as well. Chutney was really good. If you are around this locality then it's okay to try it out, else don't waste time travelling from wherever you are just to try this place out! Prices are reasonable. Staff is quite friendly and helpful. They are very good at managing the crowd. Parking for 4 wheelers would be a great challenge.

A pure veg tiffin center inside a town. There is no sign board and four wheeler parking is difficult to find. Always bustling with local crowd, it's an experience and food tastes good. We reached around 9 on saturday and veg pulav and dry jamun were already out of stock. We had 3 plain dosa, 2 thatte idli and 3 Vada for 200rs. Cons: Even though it was bigger than usual tiffin centers where you have to just stand outside, this one has enough space to stand in chaos and eat inside BUT the area smells. Building is super old and demands cleanliness.

This is a very small joint but the drive to this place from Bangalore will be a good one. They only accept cash and it is lovely of them to have a separate line for women!!! The dosa is delicious but it is nothing special from what we get in Bangalore. But if you have to visit places to cover all dosas, keep this on your list. Also try kdm (crispier and more ghee version) and if it's not your jam, go for mdm(medium crunch and medium amount of ghee used compared to kdm ) Parking is difficult, so plan well and park away from the hotel if yours is a car. For bikes,it's manageable. Expect crowd during weekends and holidays.

So this is my second visit to babu hotel! Located in actual vijayapura town' Tried their palav masala dose khali dose! Everything was great' their spicy chutney! It will be too much crowded if you visit on weekends for sure! You have to wait for a lot of time. Their dry jamoon is heaven! Amazing taste! As this place doesn't have the name board and it's located in one the busiest area in the town! So don't expect parking for cars' it's hard to find parking for two wheelers itself! Do visit this place once.

The taste ok, not extraordinary. There is no seating facility, it's not a good place for families. Only cash transactions will be accepted, there is no UPI or any other online payments.

Amazing masala dosa, crisp and tasty. Had been there on a Sunday and pulao was selling big time. They give a mound of pulao and it tastes great! Much recommended place. I felt it's better than Nani hotel.

Pros The rice bath and vade is good(50rs full plate and half plate 30rs) Idle dip is good Cons Masale dose is not good (70 Rs) Don't get fooled by KDM Masale dose they will put one spoon of extra gee and roast (80rs) Too crowded, no seating facility. "Not recommended for family". To those who love extra chutney. The most irritating part is the chutney quantity he puts in is too less . He takes a half spoon and puts half the quantity of that half spoon, in that you lose your interest to ask again as place is too crowded.
