Baan Tao - Pan-Asian restaurant in Pune - Pune, India

So we had done a booking through Zomato GOLD. We reached at 8pm. They made us wait 10min to give us a table. After ordering they took 30min to get us the drinks and appetizers. there were 3 people serving 10 or 12 tables. Food portions are super small. 100 to 150gms servings at the most. Maybe they did this coz it was a discounted booking through Zomato but I'm not sure. Food taste very average. the street vendor would make.more delicious food. And food is expensive compared to the other 5 stars and portions served. We ordered Margarita which was not upto the mark for a 5star. It was bitter. Service was very very bad. Also not at all value for money. there was a section reserved for a birthday party. it was very noisy. not a fine dine experience at all. Don't go to this place. Go if u want to spoil your evening. Or if You want to entertain your enemies there.

The place is very beautiful. I went there for a wedding so I didn't order any food as it was a buffet system. Food was good but needed a little more spices.

My husband and I simply loved it. My favourite item of food out of all that we are that night is fried ice cream... Simply delish!!! The atmosphere is to die for especially the indoor waterfall

Beautiful ambience with an actual waterfall inside the restaurant. Had lunch here which had a real authentic Thai taste reminding me of my visit to Thailand. Went there for a Thai tourism cooking event and will definitely be visiting this place again with family. Recommended for sure.

Baan Tao is an excellent place to experience the flavours of Asia. A must visit place for everyone.

We had an amazing experience at Bantao last night. The ambience was mesmerizing. The delicacies served were authentic delicious and very presentable. The staff was prompt and courteous. The Chef was very approachable and open for feedback and suggestions. We would certainly be going back.

Very good quality food offered and excellent ambience which surely gives a vibe of oriental cuisine. The place is not crowded and you can surely enjoy a very good evening with your friends or family. It is situated inside Hyatt Pune and offers very good South Asian cuisine

Visiting this place after the pandemic and to summarise my experience in a sentence ..... " A perfect way to flush your money down the drain" To start with the table reservation system was a complete sham. We came here to celebrate an anniversary but they did not book the table or have any clue of the confirmation. The restaurant was only intent on trying to throw it's 20k chef table down our throats. When we arrived there half the items on the menu that make them unique in Pune could not be served. So they were unable to serve Edemame dim sums, no Bao (soft bun) based dishes were available either and half the dessert menu was unavailable. The service was terribly slow. The fabled ambience of the restaurant was marred by the strong stentch of chlorine. Despite our disappointment, we ordered two dishes and those were the true disappointment. They have mayonese flavouring on the Sushi (yikes) and the dimsums we got were terrible. Ban Tao has seen a hard fall from grace and is a perfect waste of time and money. It's a restaurant that has not recovered from the pandemic and these experiences will further drag it into ruins. (Edit in response to the management review): Unlikely that I will ever be back to that lousy hotel There are far better options in Pune. This hotel has honestly gone to the dust. Not enough staff, trash service and terrible food!!
