AVADI - Station Code :- AVD . ARMOURED VEHICLES AND AMMUNITION DEPOT OF INDIA. One of the main Suburban railway station in MAS - TRL - AJJ route . Thousands of people use this railway station daily to commute. But there are no proper overbridges to cross from one end to the other , so people can be seen crossing railway tracks which is dangerous. All EMU trains and a single express train stop here. Mostly crowded and busy Suburban railway station. 4 platforms are present . 4th platform is specifically used for express train stoppage. Trains are available to MAS , MSB , VLCY , AJJ , TRL & TRT from here.

Armoured Vehicle and Ammunition Depot of India is the acronym for Avadi. This place is famous for WW II and consists of many defence installations. Avadi is a junction place. From there one can proceed to Poonamallee towards South, Redhills towards North, Pattabiram towards West and Ambattur towards East. But unfortunately Fast Electric Trains and Express Trains do not stop here, whereas it halts at Ambattur and no such facility available at Ambattur as the station is very far. As far as civic amenities are concerned, water logging during the rainy season is a major concern. Good roads and drainage facilities are required. Avadi NM Road houses many textile shops, boutiques, home appliances, jewellers and a bustling market area.

This is one among the crowded railway station in chennai. This station is being maintained well. Unfortunately they don't have good water, restroom and Government parking space. Where the fans are in the waiting has not running properly. Out side of the building you have private owned parking. ATM are quite near by the station. Overall just okay.

Well known location in chennai. connected to Chennai Central & Beach stations, Arakkonam & Tiruvallur station. Its Located Nearby market & MTC Bus stand. Ticket booking staffs are very kind. But this station lacks in form of travellers hygiene factor as it doesn't have proper rest room facility, no government parking area. But this station has Ro processed drinking water. Its usually crowded always.

Good place to live. Home of military installations near Chennai. CVRDE is based out of here.

Avadi station located very very close to mth road and avadi bus depot and hence easily accessible by residents of areas like crpf and ocf.. mostly crowded and always busy station with frequent number of trains ... Many local trains originate and terminate here due to the presence of avadi emu carshed

Always busiest place is avadi ....i feel avadi as small t nagar.

Having many childhood memories in this station, used to come here to see my grand parents, also my childhood crush was there i have came this station many times in childhood, when I went recently i got lot of memories about this place but maintenance is too bad, station needs good maintenance.
