This is a very small airport compared to the other ones I have seen. You can literally see from one end to the other end of the airport and view the planes from the outside end of the building. The place is maintained neat and tidy. It has a small parking area as can be expected, but enough for the kind of rush or traffic it has. Got to know that very few planes fly in here and so the check in and security checks are quickly completed. It has only two boarding gates. So, you can imagine its magnitude.
The airport is very basic, with no shops or dining facilities in the domestic flights departure lounge. However the security and staff are efficient and polite. There is a TV in the waiting lounge which will probably be showing cricket.
The name change of Aurangabad Airport from Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar Airport is in process and subjudice before Court. The Airport is small and clean. Total 4 gates. Mumbai to Aurangabad 2 flights mainly operates Air India and Indigo. Frequency of flights is very low between Mumbai to Aurangabad. It takes only 35 to 40 minutes by flight. Nice flying by Indigo. Connecting India by Indigo

Aurangabad Airport (IATA: IXU, ICAO: VAAU) is a domestic airport and a seasonal international airport serving the city of Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India. It is located about 5.5 km east of the city centre and 11 km from Aurangabad railway station, along the Aurangabad-Nagpur State Highway. The airport is owned and operated by the Airports Authority of India, with one passenger terminal with 190,000 square feet of floor area and two aerobridges. On 26 April 1993, Indian Airlines Flight 491 (IC 491), a Boeing 737-2A8 (registered VT-ECQ) was on its connecting route from Delhi to Mumbai with en route stops at Jaipur, Udaipur and Aurangabad. The heavily laden aircraft started its takeoff from Aurangabad's runway 09 in hot and humid temperatures. After lifting off almost at the end of the runway, it impacted heavily with a lorry on a highway at the end of the runway. The left main landing gear and left engine bottom cowling and thrust reverser impacted the left side of the truck at a height of nearly seven feet above the road. Then the aircraft struck high-tension power lines nearly 3 km northeast of the runway and hit the ground. The aircraft was carrying 112 passengers and 6 crew members. Sixty-three persons including the pilot, the co-pilot, and two other crew members survived. Fifty-three passengers and two crew members died.
It's good but very small and nothing to eat!! Only 1 shop is available!!
