Athankarai Pallivasal is a place of unique spiritual significance. The open-air tombs and the history of 'Athangarai Nachiyar Amma' create a serene atmosphere that's deeply moving. It's a symbol of unity and devotion, where people from diverse backgrounds come together to seek solace and blessings. What's truly heartwarming is that in this Pallivasal, they provide free meals daily to all the visitors, embodying the spirit of service and community. However, it's essential to note that the cleanliness surrounding the area is lacking, and it's unhygienic, which can be very disappointing. A must-visit for those seeking a profound spiritual experience, but poor cleanliness can be a drawback.

This famous Athangarai Pallivasal housing the Tombs of the Sufi saints couples Hazrath Sheik Mohamed Aulia and his wife Beevi Syedali Fathima ( well known as Fathima Beevi) situated on the bank of river Nambiyar and the coastal route of Tiruchendur to Kanyakumari is a symbol of communal harmony. Irrespective of their caste, creed and religion, people come to the Dargah to seek the blessings of these Sufi Saints. It is said that Hazrat Sheik Mohamed Aulia and Beevi Syedali Fathima, along with a few other Islamic missionaries from a place called ' Bajjal ' in Arabia, came to India five centuries ago to spread Islam. After visiting various parts of the Country, when they came down to South in a Ship, it got struck in Storm, which forced them to discontinue their journey resulting the missionaries to camp in a nearby jungle in Tirunelveli Dist.and continued their work. After the death of Hazrath Sheik Mohamed, his body was buried on the bank of this river. Fathima Beevi continued with her spiritual work and earned the goodwill of all sections of the society. After a few years, she also passed away and her body was buried next to her husband's grave.Further it is said that Fathima Beevi appeared in the dream of few devotees on the same night and requested them to raise walls covering the tombs of both and also to construct a mosque adjacent to it. She wished not to construct a roof above the tombs,so that the tombs would be exposed to sunlight, moonlight, wind and rain. Despite inadequate road facilities, people from different faith began visiting the Dargah in large numbers. On seeing the peoples difficulties to reach this place, the trustees of the Dargah, who were residing in a village known as ' Pulimankulam said their ancestors decided to construct a pucca Darga and when the work was in progress a boulder was about to fall on the workers and people heard a loud voice crying ' Athangarai Nachiyaar Amma' and at once the boulder stopped moving. Many innocent lives were saved and since then Fathima Beevi is also called as 'Athangarai Nachiyar Amma'.
Good Place ..We can use Free Rooms, Parking lot, Bathroom and Toilets.if you want rooms you can ask to pallivasal office room. They can give rooms but there will be no fan and plugboard and they provide lock and key . It's safe for your things. You can bring one electric fan from home. My request is to provide a small fan, it will be very useful for public.
Attinkarai Pallivasal (mosque) is famous Muslim religious destination near Koodamkulam. The name comes from the small river flowing near it and the mosque is banks of the river. Now a days no water is there in the river. Many interesting stories are there around here. 2 couples were coming from long distance ( not known the place) and resided here, calling ummacha and thangal. It's a small darga and no specialist priest are there to do any rituals. Specialty is no roof for this Durga and no rain is coming inside when raining. People from all religion coming to darga as Pilgrimages for fulfilled their needs. Multiple poor families are living around the darga from the darga revenue. One thing I noticied is cleanness and Infra. Panchayat Or darga authorities have to give some importance to the infra and cleanness around the darga. Now a days 1-2 lodges are there for staying. Many people stays there for long and also coming for short stay for a day. Few rooms are available inside the darga for staying. The important days are Thursday and Sunday. Its around 75 kms from Nagercoil to the Attinkarai Pallivasal. Bus services are there from Vadasseri bustand.
